A great visit and great hotel
We were repeat visitors to this hotel when we visited in may, having been very satisfied on two previous occasions. We got a very good deal and paid a little more to upgrade our room. This was very worthwhile as we got a suite with a balcony overlooking the river, wine, fruit and bottled water. The staff are very friendly and attentive, welcoming us back and offering helpful advice about sightseeing. The hotel is beautifully appointed with a good restaurant offering early bird specials that are good value. There is a nice bar with an open air area, giant screen and waterfall. The breakfast is really good with relaxed serving times. The location is good for walking and visiting Kildare generally. The train into Dublin takes about 30 minutes and better than attempting to drive in. This is the best value hotel in the area

Lovely hotel, great atmosphere
We stayed this weekend as we were attending a wedding at a nearby hotel. The atmosphere was great - we had no idea there was a festival on. The room was clean and lovely, and the breakfast was great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Good hotel but ..
A group of us stayed here as we were attending a wedding outside Leixlip. The hotel Reception staff are extremely friendly and informative. We were informed on arrival that there was a function that night and that it might be noisy but not to worry as we were 'on the other side' of the hotel. We heard the music where we were, our other friends on the 'wrong side' did not sleep well due to the noise. This was repeated again the second night. There is a bar where people gather and an outdoor screen.Great breakfast and wonderful staff.Room was extremely comfortable.Lovely location in a pretty village.

Great Hotel - Lovely Setting - Party Central!
This is a lovely hotel, in a great setting, next to the river in the middle of the town, just off of the main ring road, so great for a stop over, or so we thought.....more on that later. There is a nice riverside walk, and plenty of outdoor space if the weather is kind. The hotel has a car park but this can quickly get overfull . The rooms are very comfortable and welcoming, and all of the staff throughout were friendly, helpful, polite & efficient - I can't fault them in any way. The bar is good and traditional, offering a good choice of bar food at reasonable prices, and the food is very good; there is also a formal restaurant, but this was a bit too expensive for our budget. The drinks are very reasonable compared with other establishments in the area, and the hotel has a number of bars. Breakfast was very good, and plentiful, lots of choice and good quality. The hot meals were served to order, and came quickly and well presented. This seems to be a party central hotel, with music playing in the courtyard area during the afternoon, and either bands or discos in the bar areas at night. The music was good, and if you want a great night out, or a party, then this would be an ideal place to go for it. There is also a large screen outdoors showing sporting events. Unfortunately all this leads inevitably to a noisy environment and a busy bar. Our stay was a stop over on the way back from the West of Ireland to Dublin before a morning departure home, and our early night was disrupted by the music, clearly audible from our room. This was a shame, as I had specifically requested for a quiet room when booking. It was 1am before the music stopped and sleep was possible. So if you want a great night out in a great hotel, then this would be the place to go. It was busy and buzzing and would be great fun. If you're wanting a quiet meal, and a drink, a chat, and an early night then this probably isn't for you - at least on the weekend that we were there.

Surprisingly wonderful
This was the last of many hotels and B&B's on our trip to Ireland. We had ventured to different areas on our own which can be both stressful and exhilarating. Finding one more place to stay the last stressor on our list and after missing our immediate left coming into town....we eventually found The Courtyard. As we pulled into the parking lot, we were both thrilled and relieved. What a delightful place to stay. A full courtyard with a large screen TV to show the state sports to onlookers was gorgeous. Both the pub area and coffee getaway were enjoyable as well. The best part was the staff. Not only were they courteous and beyond helpful (Owen in Reception), but they were accomodating as well. When I needed a charger for my US electrical device, Owen secured one for the waitress, Nikki, in the pub. She lent it for several hours and was willing to leave it for the night. Chris, in Reception, lent me a lens off of his camera to get some great wide angled shots of the nearby church and creek. (I mean, who does that). And the wait staff in the restaurant for breakfast was beyond accomodating. The room was clean and comfortable and a place to regroup after a long trip. I recommend this place to anyone traveling to Ireland. Just outside of Dublin, it would be a great place to land after a long day!
