I am sure that Beth will make this a great hotel in the Choice chain
We were given a nice room close to the reception (#205). It was an actual suite with separate bedroom and TV room, all roomy. To charge my gadgets was not a problem and Internet worked without a hitch. The room even had a fridge, not usual in the Clarion chain. The bath was nice too, but the door frame was in need of some paint. There is plenty of space to put yours and your spouses toiletries, but it is not spacious and a bit cramped. I took a photo of the exhaust vent to make a point to the leaning crew! One item that looks filthy tends to give a negative impression that is much wider. The receptionist Beth also doubles in as the General Manager, or was it the other way around? She does a remarkable job as the hotel is also being renovated with new carpets in the corridors. We were less troubled by the renovation than in other hotels we have stayed in. We wanted to do some laundry and that was a long walk, not as the long walk of the Navajo in 1864 from Arizona to New Mexico, but extensive to the floor below. The charge to washing and drying was lower than in other hotels where we have used this option. The fitness room was the best we have seen so far staying in about 30 different Choice hotels. There are two treadmills and all 5 items works. There is water and there are towels and there is house phone. We told Beth that we could not make the treadmills work, and she called us back later and confirmed that they now were functional. What the maintenance crew should have seen om this visit to the fitness room, - was the waste basket that should be emptied soon? In a hotel everyone works for the same goal; Satisfied guests! I almost ended up at Beth's side of the desk when I was young, but experienced that running a hotel is hard work and I took the easy way out with finance. The lock to the fitness room is defect. This should be repaired as there are maintenance work going on and much traffic of non-guests in and out of the hotel. Most entrances have CCTV coverage however. There is no elevator. If you want to avoid stairs you should require a room at the same level as the reception. The breakfast was above the average. There were plenty of seating¿¿¿s and there was even bacon an omelets for breakfast. The items were refilled at a regular basis, even forks, knives and spoons and the attendant made an excellent job. It was a great stay, - if it was not for exhaust from the evening dinner's in Marcella's restaurant. It all right to dine there, but to have the smell from other peoples dinner into your bedroom is not acceptable. If that is a problem for you too, you might get a room on the ground floor, a good choice may be #181 which is far away from the restaurant. This level was being renovated. I am sure that Beth will make this a great hotel in the Choice chain, given a little more time and money. You should stay here too!

Nice place. Just what we needed.
Hotel is easy to get into with lots of parking. It has two floors with interior doors. The upper level is the main level. The lobby is VERY noisy as the restaurant and bar are open to the lobby. Check in was easy and the front desk staff were very pleasant.Rooms are of average size. Furniture did not seem new, but it was in good condition. Furnishings included two double beds, , lamps, table with two chairs, flat TV and clock radio. A small closet is available. Four pillows were provided with each bed. Linens appeared new. Beds were ok, but a little lumpy. An iron and ironing board is provided. The bathroom has a single sink. Lots of hot water was available. Four sets of towels were provided, which is unusual these days. No fridge or microwave. Our rooms had a connecting door which was really great to bring everyone together in the evening.Internet worked great. No password needed. Very nice outdoor pool.Breakfast was good and included four juices, 2% milk, hot cereal, three kinds of cold cereal, bagels, bread, English muffins, egg patties, bacon, sausage, hash brown patties, and premade pancakes, yogurt and three kinds of fruit. Coffee, hot chocolate and tea were also available. Breakfast is served in the restaurant area.In general it was what we expected. Would stay here again without question.

Large hotel, good value
Wasn't pleased with the check-in. Had a contract for several rooms for a certain price and when I arrived was told a different rate and they insisted that I did not know the right rate. Not a good first impression. Luckily, I had my contract with me to prove the rate I had. I checked with some others in my group and some who arrived earlier had no problem with check-in and rate. The room was fair. It was clean and appeared to have been recently updated. No refrig or microwave in the room. Hall carpeting was clean. The complimentary breakfast included both hot and cold items, fruit, coffee, tea, and juices. a good variety. Quite a large building with multiple entrances, you had to use your room key to gain access. Did not use the fitness room so no comment on it.Had live entertainment(singer) in the lounge area for about 2 hours. Did not eat at the restaurant.WiFi available but could not get it to work in the room and when I tried to access the computer in the lobby area, it was not working. after the minor problems at check in, wasn't a bad hotel. Needed a car to get to a restaurant other than one located on premise because nothing was close by.

Poor customer service and no compassion
My wife and I stayed there on Memorial Day Weekend. There was a veterans function at the NYS Fairgrounds. I had asked for a handicap accessible room and was upgraded to a suite. The room was nice and everything worked OK except the door lock system. My wife has MS and can't walk long distances. I had to go to the fairgrounds so she decided to have a meal at the restaurant on the property, Marcellas. She said the meal was the usual bland restaurant food. We were on the first floor and she had to walk up to the second level to get to the restaurant. There is no elevator on the property. If she were in a wheelchair we would have had to go outside, up a fairly steep driveway and then up a wheelchair ramp to get to the main desk and restaurant. When my wife went back to the room, the key card would not work. She had to make several trips up and down stairs to finally get back in the room. No one offered to help her or switch to a room with a functioning lock. When I got back later that evening, my key card would not work either. When I checked out, I complained about the lock problem and asked why no one offered to help or switch rooms. I was told that my wife did not ask. Why should she have to ask? It was obvious she was struggling and she was walking with a cane.I would not stay at this property again. A real lack of compassion for a guest and lousy customer service. Looks like they bought this motel to make money and don't care about taking care of their customers.

Weekend Getaway
The hotel was just OK for the weekend stay. We had a room at the back of the hotel, the door to our room looked like it had witnessed many fights as there were many pieces of paint missing in places. The room was ok but was not the cleanest. Even when the room was made up the second day for us, no clean cups were left for coffee and the used ones were left. The tub didn't drain well so you showered in 6 inches of water that would accumulate. The breakfast was standard scrambled eggs and sausage patties or cerial. The hotel is near the fair grounds but is out of the way to where we spent our time. Wouldn't go back
