Lot cheaper than downtown Chicago
Convenient for a night before turning in our rental car to spend a couple days downtown near the museums. Clean, comfortable room. Free parking; can't say about the shuttle as we weren't using it (they did offer/make sure we didn't need it). Small swimming pool plus jetted hot tub was nice. Decent breakfast with cereals, pastries, waffles, fruit. Industrial area; only found Subway and Burger King in easy walking distance (we went with Subway). There were more restaurants/mall/busier corner about a mile east. Would be particularly economic/convenient the night before a flight.

Power Outage Did Not Darken Our Stay
We drove to Elk Grove Village Super 8, shuttled to O'Hare, traveled abroad for 2 weeks, shuttled back to the hotel and stayed a night before returning home. The 2 shuttle drivers were a great joy (Wesley & John). We shared stories and music. Chicago was in the midst of an electrical storm when we returned. The hotel was without power. Lety and the staff did everything they could to accommodate us. They did a great job! This was our 2nd stay at Elk Grove Village Super 8 and we will do it again.
