Feastive Season Break
We stayed at the Club Amarilis apartments for 2 weeks over Christmas 2012 including the New Year period and would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday, though understandably the area does get a bit noisy on the 31st Dec with a fabulous fireworks display commencing at midnight . The staff were very friendly and helpful, the apartments spacious well equipped with a nice big flat screen TV with plenty satellite channels. The only slight problem for us ... there was no washing machine in the apartment but they do run a laundry service and also a maid came round daily changing towels etc. The majority of pubs and restaurants on "the Strip" in Praia da Rocha were open every day over the festive period with plenty choice and all just a few minutes walk away. Would we go back ... Yes ... nice accommodation, a short stroll to the beach/pubs/restaurants and with daytime temperatures hovering around 18¿¿C made for a nice relaxing family holiday.

Nice apartments
We stayed here at beginning of November was supposed to be in Alvor. The rooms were cleaned very tidy good value for money to be honest, the bar seemed to open when it wanted but it was end of season, There were plenty of other places to drink any way which suited us.Short walk to beach and you had to walk down steps to get to it, Would def stay her again.I think some people expect to much for their money reading some of the comments on here.The staff were jovial friendly and the fitness people were fantastic to deal with.Only negative comment I have is that the bathroom tiles seemed dated but they were clean and so was the toilet.There was no noise at all here had great nights sleep even, But it may have been the alcohol

Club Amarllis
We have just returned from a 10 day trip to Praia da Rocha .We had booked to go to Clube Brisamar in Alvor which we went to last year and absolutly lovedFor some reason contractual or otherwise we were moved When we arrived we were very disappointed as the Club Amarillis was in the middle of what looked like a concrete jungle .The beach etc could have only been seen from the upper apartments.The beach was only 150 metres from the hotel as said but were only reached by steep stairs .The staff on reception were not exactly uhelpful but seemed to lack knowledge about simple things like bus times ,and info about the indoor pool .There was a lot of noise at night but as the resort was quite busy to be expected.The chairs and sofa were very grubby and the balcony table was disgusting.The pool area was ok although the pool bar didn't appear to openThis isn't to say we didn't enjoy our holiday although we wouldn't use the hotel again.Praia da Rocha is friendly resort with some nice bars especially enjoyed some nice quiet drinks at Marango Ice which has a nice long happy hour .The beach is lovely as is the marina its just a bit of a steep walk down and up.

Club Amarilis
We were sent here after our holiday company moved us. On our third day we had an i-pod stolen, when we asked at reception if the cleaner had maybe moved it the rude receptionist went straight on the defensive saying it wasn't stolen, when the word stolen was NEVER mentioned by us. The bar was only open a couple of hours a day, we do understand that it was the beginning of October but expected a bit more. We were self catering but all we had was a hob with a frying pan, a pot and a microwave so cooking was very difficult. When we asked about the cooker we were informed that all the self catering apartments had the ovens disconnected! Mad! Won't be back.

3 great weeks
The hotel is competatively priced, conveniently located and has a extensive range of facilities.It is suitable for the young and oldThe staff are very friendly, very helpful and very knowledgeable about the local services and amenities.It is located near to a brilliant beach on the Algarve (Prai da Rocha) and the"The Strip" were there are dozens and dozens of bars and restaurants with a wide range of dishes from Indian, Chinese Italian and English and most are very competively priced.
