Not good
It is in a suburb near the airport. We arrived by car and had difficulty locating it. We would not have found it without the help of a very friendly bar-owner. The building feels like a big Roman villa. There was a kitchen in our room. Using one burner caused the electricity in the whole room to fail 3 times. We never even switched on the shower heat. The room heater at full blast was just blowing cold air. Everything seemed broken, glued badly, fell apart to the touch. A halogen lamp shone in the window all night.In short, anywhere else, this hotel sucks. In Rome, it's a "good value".

Good for an overnight stay
I agree with many of the other reviewers. The best part about this hotel was the staff (very friendly and helpful), the neighborhood atmosphere and restaurants (I value that), and the 10 minute drive to the airport for only 6 ¿¿¿ each way + 2 ¿¿¿ city tax = 8 ¿¿¿ each way, paid directly to the hotel, not the shuttle driver (but tipping the driver would be a nice thing to do, by the way). I came in on my return home at a time the shuttle wasn't running and had to pay the flat rate 30 ¿¿¿ for a taxi. Make sure you get a Taxi Fiumicino; otherwise a Taxi Roma is a flat rate of 40 ¿¿¿. I learned that from La Jolie staff on my first stay in October 2012. The nearby restaurant Taverna Vecchia is to die for. Honestly. The best fresh calimari I've ever had for only 10 ¿¿¿. Now... the room? Definitely dark, small and depressing. Refrigerator didn't work. Shower didn't drain. Frankly, I can deal with stuff like that pretty easily for just one night, but I'm sure others would find it hard. I could never do it for more than one night, though! Even for another trip to Taverna Vecchia!

A little depressing
We stayed here after spending 4 nights in Sorrento before our flight home and maybe it was the drastic change in scenery, but we just found it depressing. We tried to ask about Wi-fi (didnt get it in our room) and the reception person was on the phone and ignored us until we walked away. The nearby restaurants are OK. The taxis to/from the airport know that you're stuck paying whatever they want to charge for that 4KM drive and they ask for 20-25 Euros (we had taken the bus to the airport and a cab to get here). We were definitely considering that we would have rather spent a little extra money to stay somewhere else. We all slept poorly because of neighborhood noise (and obviously planes flying over). Overall, I'd say if the cost difference is less than 100 Euros, go somewhere else.

Close to the Airport, Great Value
I agree with the other reviewers this hotel is tucked away in a residential neighborhood but is only about 10 minutes from the airport. We spent our last night before flying back to the US here. The reason we chose this hotel was because of the Garden Suite. It is a room with a little yard out front, we were in Italy to pick up an 8 week old puppy and this was perfect for him. The grass is faux, but he was able to play safely, in a contained area. The bed was very uncomfortable, thin mattress, and the woman walking late at night on the second floor with heels on echoed horribly down to the first floor, but for our needs it was fine. There isn¿¿¿t much in the way of restaurants nearby, but a few markets (most everything was closed on a Sunday afternoon). A 15 minute walk yielded a couple sandwiches and wine. We chose to return our rental car the afternoon before our 6am flight and arranged for a wake-up call and taxi to get us to the airport. Both were on time and we had plenty of time before our flight. The taxi was about ¿¿¿20 to the airport.

Does exactly what it says on the tin
This hotel is great for a 1 night stopover before catching a flight from Fiumicino airport and that's what it markets itself towards. Taxi to / from the airport costs about 15 euros. Check in was brisk, efficient and friendly despite the receptionist not speaking much english. You can tell this hotel is completely geared up for airport traffic as we were asked straight away if we wanted to utilise the shuttle service (there was a list already up and running and getting busy) and what time we wanted our wake up call for (nice touch). We also paid for everything on check in so we didn't need to bother early the next day (receptionist suggested doing this). Shuttle was 6 euros per person and good value. Our room was on the 1st floor and I would agree with other reviewers in that it is a weird set up. The hotel is laid out more like an apartment block and it is in a residential area, however it all felt pretty safe and was quiet after the planes flying over ahead had reduced for the night. Our room was spacious but basic. We didn't even bother with the tv and there wasn't any decent wi-fi coverage in our room but these things are necessarily needed when you are only using it as somewhere to kip for a few hours. Room and bathroom were clean.Our flight was at 7.45am and the shuttle bus starts at 6am so we got this one. Breakfast was out when we came down at 5.50am and was perfectly fine for a snack. The shuttle bus was on time and the driver was very friendly and helpful. He will help you figure out which terminal you are going from if you don't know.This hotel is a decent choice for anyone needing a crash pad for a few hours. Much better I think than the vast number of hotels in the Fiumicino area doing the same thing but for a much higher price.
