Good place
Good place to stop over the golf course is ok not great i would not rust back to play again hotel food and room all good weekend get to busy on the course we had 4 different tee times on the first day ! Not bed for a 4 ball

Another wonderful stay
My friend and I had our second stay here...my third stay and once again it more than met our expectations.Lovely lunch in the bistro, the most amazing full body massage by Sian, lovely shellac nails done by Becky and a lovely mud pack/steam room experience. This visit was very quiet so we were able to make the most of the facilities.Cocktail hour was fab, exceptionally quiet, we were the only 2 there so the service was quick and excellent.A lovely room, sadly we were unable to get an upgrade but that didn't ruin the stay at all as all the rooms are lovely.A yummy cooked breakfast the next morning. I was thrilled to find they even had porridge, a lovely start to the day.We left feeling so relaxed and stress free and are waiting for the next season package so we can book for October and I will also be booking for September for my sister's 40th birthday. I did suggest that they should have a loyalty scheme, maybe a free bistro lunch or a free half hour treatment after 5 visits. I will have well met this quota this year :)Would recommend this lovely place to everybody.

Class Act
A party of us from Haggs Castle Golf Course,Glasgow ( 24 people ) stayed at this resort from Friday 26th April until Monday 29th for a golf break.The facilities were superb as was the 18 hole golf course and they also have a nine hole course.The rooms were extremely well furnished with all the normal amenities one would expect from a resort of this standing.We were staying on a bed and evening meal basis .The breakfast choice was really good and the service the same.The choice for the evening meal was really good and again the size of the helpings especially for golfers having just played 18 holes left nothing to the imagination..The bar areas catered very well for all ones needs and again the service was good.One final comment i thought that all the staff were superb in both there atttiude and professionalism to the customer and i am sure we will be returning to this venue next year.Well done to all at Formby Hall Golf Resort &SpaStewart Davis

Wow excellent hotel
Have got nothing bad to say about this place, everything was spot on from check in.Staff we're very nice and helpful, room was amazing, best I have stayed in, food in restaurant was very good and the Spa is very nice and relaxing.

Regular golf break
A small group of us have visited this establishment on a number of occasions now on overnight breaks for the purposes of playing golf although this is the first time I have got round to posting a review which hopefully will be helpful. We have just got back from our most recent stay.I can't comment on the spa or other leisure facilities as our group have never had time to use them but I can comment on the overall standard of the hotel, the golf course, the rooms, the restaurant, the 19th hole and the staff. In relation to all of these, I have nothing but praise, the rooms are spacious, modern and clean, unlike many other hotels, there is a fridge available and if in a room away from the car park and on the ground floor, there is a private patio area outside the room which is a perfect spot to sit and watch other golfers attempting to finish their round on a high note! Even if you have been allocated a room without this facility, there is an extremely large public patio area which, on a fine day is an excellent spot to congregate after your round to bore other golfers about the birdies or eagles you nearly got!!The golf course is interesting, in good condition and although on occasions demanding (depending on the quality of golfer!) is a very enjoyable experience. Only adverse comment would be the eight minute tee time's which inevitably mean hold ups on the course but that is unfortunately a consequence when playing on a course where profits from accommodating as many golfers as possible outweigh other considerations.The 19th hole is extremely welcoming and the staff there, as well as in the restaurant are a credit to the hotel and receive my warmest and heartfelt congratulations, they are friendly, helpful and appear to enjoy what they do, They should give themselves a thumbs up for the quality of their service. However by highlighting those individuals I would not want to infer that I was less than impressed by other areas of staff in the hotel who where equally as professional in their roles, the reception staff and the staff in the Pro shop were also charm personified and I had a very pleasant conversation with the golf Manager Mark who was genuinely interested in feedback and our experiences on the course.The quality of the breakfast available was high although I could anticipate some congestion at the buffet tables when busy, we always eat early in the morning when the restaurant is quiet. The menu for the evening gave a number of alternative choices and the standard of the food served was good.So overall, the hotel is highly recommended, watch out for various golf offers made available throughout the year, these offers are of excellent value with the caveat that on busy days a five hour round is highly likely!!I hope this review assists
