Great Value
If your visiting portlaoise town then this is the place for you, 1 hour from Dublin & 30 mins from Naas. Great value for money rooms Fine. If a bit dated. My only issue is that it's located on what I would call a truck stop in the middle of nowhere. If its close to where you want to be then its well worth it.

Excellent Hospitality at the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise!
We arrived to the Maldron Hotel as "guests" and by the time we left we felt as though we were "family". The kindness and attentive service that the Maldron employees provided to us was so very much appreciated! The hotel is located outside of town, which is about a 15min walk or you can take a 5min taxi ride. However, if you are traveling by car or bus to other tourist spots the hotel is conveniently located right near the M7 motorway. Great amenities - the restaurant and health club were awesome! We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet that was included with our room package. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends!

Nice stay in a good location
We enjoyed our stay in the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise. Staff were friendly. The room was very clean and there was enough tea, coffee etc. supplied. The policy for minding the environment in terms of towel usage etc. is encouraging to see. We got great value and service and in particular the manager in the restaurant on Sunday morning was extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely return in the future.

A good location for a few nights stay - travel lodge/holiday Inn standard
Great for the M7 motorway. Fairly good value for money. Few small issues which were quickly resolved. We had to change some dirty cups and glasses and ask for a top up on shower gel and replacement bulb for bedside lamp. These weren't a big deal but do count on overall impression. The front desk were friendly and breakfast was good. If you need somewhere convenient this fits the bill with no frills.

Just OK!
The hotel is outside the town. There is a food mall next door. The reception is cold so you cant sit in the lobby and relax. Our room was very basic nothin wow. The tv was small and the double bed. The shower and bath was in one with a shower curtain i hate that! There was no shower cap. The room was very hot and the radiator very noisy. The bar and restaurant is just one big room so you cannot sit down and relax. There isnt enought seats. Our dinner was included and we were rushed.The menu wasnt great. We got our bill before we were even finished.The pool was ok the steam room could of been hotter. I would only stay here again if i had too.
