Bright friendly
Bright friendly hotel on the beach, centre of the Town short 5 min walk to Bars , great for family's, or mates.room large and comfy beds. Lovely marble bathroom,All inclusive, as a veggie I was able to eat lots at every serving.Enjoyed the weekend I spent their with 22 friends and kids.Bar shuts at 11 ish so then go to bed or town bars.enjoy x

Perfect location
We stayed for 3 days this week. The location is right on the beach of La Cala. The pool area is large and beds plentiful. The pool bar serves snacks as well as a good selection of drinks. The pool is a little shallow, perfect for kids. Its a short walk to all of the bars and restaurants. The Hotel is a little old however, don't get me wrong, its clean and the buffet breakfast is good. Its just due a refurb. For instance the safe has a key, not a digital code, which means your carrying it around with you all the time. The sea view rooms are supplied with breath taking views, the 6th floor is best.

Puzzled !
Having stayed at the Vik Gran for the first time at Easter Time this year 2013, with my mother I am a little confused on how this Hotel can boast to be a 4 star. I ve stayed at many 4 Star Hotels in many countries, but this is way and far below par. Don't get me wrong the staff are friendly and helpful, they welcome you warmly and friendly. The hotel is clean and Tidy. Yet it seems to be in some sort of time warp/trap. The Rooms are adequate and clean, yet they lack 4 star comfort, a fridge but no Tea making facilities, they don't have an iron even to hire !!! The food is good although always a little cold but the fresh fish cooked everyday was nice. Desserts were ok but not a great selection. The bar is dull and lifeless if it were not for the radio behind the bar. The restaurant was dark and soulless no music staff were told they couldn't have it on !!!! so everyone was eating quietly dare not laugh, this made it quite uncomfortable at times, the only life was when the Spanish came in and spoke loudly to each other , you could breath at last. On the whole it lacked life and soul. The Mijas village in the mountains was stunning and a must see. 1.50 Euro each on the bus. Don't catch it in the costa mijas village you don't get on its so busy catch it by petrol station. The local market was nice and reasonable priced goods. We were disappointed with its rating of 4 star it was more like a 2 or 3 . We had a reasonable stay but would have liked it to have been more upmarket 4 star. The food good, local alcohol on all inc basis good choice.Friendly staff.

Whats yer problem
Basically there isn't one. Stayed 4 nights 6-10th May on 3rd floor overlooking pool.No problems whatsoever - end of.Food plentiful and hot , drinks in abundance with good selection , wifi free and good connection, rooms spacious and clean , La Cala is a lovely small town/ village.If u fancy a bit of entertainment then Legends is the place to go - mostly free nights but at times there is a cover charge - we went to see Beatles tribute -they were v good.

VIK Gran Hotel Costa del Sol
We recently stayed B&B in this hotel and we were very pleased. We had requested and got ground floor room with beach view and we got the last floor on ground floor overlooking the pool. Rooms were serviced daily - food was excellent and a nice touch was the availability of tea or coffee 24/7 on a self service basis.
