Excellent service!
Me and my man have been staying here twice and we both have nothing to complain about.The staff have done everything they can to make our stay a pleasant one.We both got some dietary needs and they've been bending backwards to make sure we wouldn't leave hungry! The restaurant staff work very hard and are always in a good mood and willing to help.They totally renovated the restaurant between our stays and it's nowadays really fresh and modern.My man have trouble sleeping if it's too hot in the room and in May and beginning of June when we'd been staying here the air condition hasn't been on, we heard that it's because these months doesn't count as the hottest and therefore no A/C. (Due to some rules and regulations for hotels in Spain.) Anyway, the hotel offered us a fan and he slept well.The beds are comfortable and the rooms are nice and clean.The only problem with the rooms are the sliding wardrobe doors, they slam pretty hard into the walls even if you try to be careful and it's quite annoying. The SPA is nice and perfect to relax in if there's a rainy day. The pool and the pool area is beautiful and lush.Treat yourself to a delicious Sangria with Cava and enjoy your stay!

Noisy, Food repetitive, not very warm out-of-season
We arrived on the 30th Oct to stay for 3 nights until 2nd Nov, agree with a lot of the views on this forum. Walls were paper thin very noisy (like a lot of those types of hotel), where your jammed in like sheep. You do get what you pay for, but we booked with On-the-beach.co.uk, or should be known as On-your-Bike. We thought we would be paying ¿¿376 but ended up paying ¿¿412 a massive increase for a halfboard holiday for 2 people staying only 3 nights. There was only a mention of extra costs at the end of the page in grey 2pt type!! -- BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU BOOK WITH ON THE BEACH, there is no such thing as a cheap holiday now days. you only get the final cost when you have finally submitted your payment details. we got a charged ¿¿10 for using a standard visa debit card?? what else can anyone pay with? and ¿¿24 each in flight supplements from Ryanair, who we wont be traveling with again. Overall for the time of year - which was pretty much closed down in the whole area, Penida de mar has nothing to offer really. so if you want to see the sites then go into Barcelona, everything is there - its like London.If you do book a city break then book nearer the city, the journey was some 1hr 30mins at least.Someone said 45mins but it was not. first 1 and half days were wet raining and quite cold and with the thin sheets and tile floors in the hotel are not very good, but hey we did travel out-of-season. We had a nice time seeing the sites in Barcelona, which was the only good time on the holiday.

Good value for money
We booked this hotel on basis of reviews. Whilst it is good value for money (food was good and varied) room was very basic and walls were too thin - wine and drinks in the restaurant were too dear. Room cleaning was adequate. Otherwise Pineda is a good place to holiday - Barcelona, Blanes - a trainride away and Tossa de Mar a train and two bus rides away - good days out!

The best in the area
We had never taken a 'package' holiday like this before, so certain things were unusual for us. Add everything up however, the flight, accomodation and food, and it is excellent value for money. The food was perfectly adequate, and good at times, but there is a 'canteen-like' feel to the experience. Understandable when you are feeding several hundred people. However, there are tricks to making it better. 1. If the hot food isn't quite hot enough, use the microwave, down by the drinks machines. 2. Walk round first, otherwise, you may miss something like soup, located right at the bottom. 3.Croissants and some of the pastries are nicer if you put them through the toaster! 4. Loiter a bit and keep your eyes open, sometimes when a dish has run out, another replaces it, that is a different one. ie, a pork dish was replaced with lamb, which was delicious!! or.. the lady behind the servery starts cooking something, fish, or omelettes, fresh.....The wine is reasonably priced, we took a vacu-vin, so when it was labelled up for the next meal, it was still in good condition.The hotel itself stands on a 'block' about 3 streets from the sea. It is more attractive and better laid out than others around with trees and quality loungers etc. Lighting to all the balconies. The hotel has a 'higher quality' about it. It was bustling, when we were there, with coach parties and retired folks. the outside pool is NOT heated....and smaller than the photos would indicate and the inside one (the spa) not really good enough value, for the money, not enough to do... pool is too small for proper swimming, but nevertheless an attractive feature. As with all these places, there are 'extras'.... so be prepared to pay for.... water with your meal in the evening....WiFi..... the Spa...10 euros a day...and if your flight is a late one, then extra to stay in your room later.Look at tripadvisor for local restaurants, all within walking distance, but quiet until later in the evening (9ish) .... some are excellent, but remember if you want shops, they observe a long siesta. This was a very clean hotel, all marble floors so a bit echoey... the balcony in the sun and the fridge in the room, helped enormously. Enjoy!
