The Heritage Hotel in Portlaoise is a fantastic place to stay, it is very central everything close bt, it has two beautiful restaurants Spagos which we dined in and the food was gorgeous, also Kellys which is a steakhouse and is scrumtous. The staff are very friendly, also there is a beautiful leisure centre and beauty clinic if you fancy being pampered. We have stayed there several times withe the two children and also on our own, I would definately recommend this hotel and we will be going back.

Just back from a one nights stay and when we arrived we had a bit of a wait at reception(one receptionist dealing with people while another was on the computer...drives me mad...deal with customers first :( receptionist was very nice and offered me a free upgrade which i took and when i saw the room it was HUGE(i think it was the honeymoon suite....brought my sister as a surprise for her birthday so didnt mind sharing the big bed...) Room was clean and spacious but one look at the CARPET STAINS and slippers were needed:( it was disgusting and they tried to cover some red wine stains with a rug but other stains they gave up on :( Went to the spa not overly impressed...nice massage but could hear people coming in and making appointments and yapping...not very relaxing....Dinner was included in our package so went to the steak house across the road (cant remember the name)but the staff were lovely and friendly and the food was FAB ....Breakfast was fine ..ur average buffet hot and cold but they didnt bother filling back up the croissants or pastries when they were gone ....one last thing that annoyed me was PARKING ...when i was leaving i was told that i had free parking from 6 the previous evening till 10 the next morning...(arrived at 4 and had late check out till 3 next day)was told if i paid ¿¿¿6 that would cover me for one day and when i went to pay at the machine i had another ¿¿¿6 to pay for the 2 hours the previous day :( Its the first time i've EVER had to pay for parking at a hotel ....feel you pay enough alreadyall in all it was a nice night but was disappointed with the extra's :(

We stayed here last friday night and it is a fine hotel. Our room was very good, clean and comfy as you would expect. We did not dine here as we were going out to a gathering later. After a good nights sleep we had a hearty breakfast which was buffet style, as so many hotels are now and the food certainly hit the spot. We have stayed at The Heritage on numerous occasionsand we have always had a good experience. We will be back again and please feel free to upgrade us , thank you.

Attended a function in the main function room. Big crowd, very cramped at the tables, food was quite good for such an event. Service was slow, but staff were very pleasant. Facilities were quite good.

We booked into the Heritage Hotel for 1 night over the st patricks weekend. We did a 1 night break via supervalue and got a great deal even the receptionist thought so! The hotel was well sign posted and so easy to find. When we arrived we parked in the car park next to the hotel which is privately owned. The hotel do have deals on the parking so its probably a good idea to check these. Check in was easy and our room was very spacious and clean. There are a couple of restaurants and bars attached to the hotel which is handy if you have been travelling a long time and dont want to venture too far. There was a good choice for breakfast - cereals, breads, fruit, yoghurts and cooked items too. There is also a spa leisure facility within the hotel - although because we were only staying for 1 night we never got to use these. Would just say we asked for directions to a local restaurant to someone on reception who wasnt able to help us. The restaurant was in fact just around the corner so it might be an idea if the reception staff were familiar with the local restaurants.
