BETTER THIS VISIT
I have made a few comments about this hotel but credit where credit is due - popped down for a coffee recently. Hot chocolate was spot on with plenty of wee biscuits. Kids loved it. Thank you to Carol (apologies if I've got her name wrong - she's the blonde lady in the bar). Always had a policy of if you're quick enough to moan you should be quick enough to give credit also. If the service is as good next time we'll probably start our family visits up again.

Weekend in Erskine
I spent last weekend at the Erskine Bridge Hotel. My inital thought of the room was that it could have been a little better dusted and there were a couple of pee marks on the toilet seat so initially i was not to impressed with hte housekeeping. however i would like to say that all the staff were extremly friendly. I ordered a takeaway as i was on my own so didnt fancy sitting in the restaurant on my own and they ddnt seem to have any problem with this. The reception staff were very friendly as where the staff in the bar. However i would also like to say that a particular lady (Barbera) in the restaurant for breakfast was one of the nicest people i have ever met. when she fould out i was in a rush for breakfast and hte que was long, she sat me down, took my order and went and git my breakfast for me. She was really friendly with a welcoming smile and hte kind opf person you want as your grandmother. I would definately recommend this place to stay and will definately be visiting when i am back in Glasgow again.

Old, tired and in need of TLC
Public areas are generally fine, staff were very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was OK but the exterior and the bedrooms could do with considerable investment and work. While the towels and bed linen were spotless, the general decor is showing its age: my bedroom had missing skirting, stained lampshade and coving (looked like drink had been splashed over it), and the bath enamel was flaking off, with the tap handle coming off in my hand. As I only spent an overnight there, it was just about fit for purpose, but I would have hated to have been a tourist spending a long spell there. Giving it three stars as I get the impression the staff are doing their best to deliver a good service in a building that's seen better days, and the overnight rate for a double room with breakfast at ¿¿63 was reasonable given hotel rates these days.

Will never stay here again
We stayed here in May as our flight to London was delayed to the following day. Staying here just added to the nightmare. We had interconnecting rooms for us and our two children. The door from the hall into the room our children were in would not lock so we had to pile our bags up in front of the door. The bedspreads were full of holes, the baths in both rooms were badly stained, as were the carpets. The window in our room wouldn't fully close, which is a problem in Scotland in May! The bedspread in our room was disgustingly dirty, as if it hadn't been washed for years, and had what looked like blood stains on it. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was one of the most expensive places we ate during our 3 weeks in Europe but the quality was not very good. The menu sounded quite nice but when the food came it wasn't. We had had such a great holiday it was a shame to spend our last night here. I will never stay at this hotel again and have already warned my friends against it.

Very run down from the outside
We only visited the hotel to use the pool ( our hotel pool was closed due to a fire). The outside of the hotel is very run down and has not been looked after at all- there were weeds every where and large visible rat traps .( it would only take a day of hard work and they could vastly improve the place!).Multiple windows in the pool area need replacing and there are areas of mould on the walls. The pool area was quite well kept but the lack of attention to details really let's this place down and looking at the presentation of the hotel,I would not be induced to stay hereThe pool staff were reasonably friendly and helpful
