Very good but needs more thought for family accommodation
The hotel was very good in all areas. The food was very good, the service was excellent. The swimming pool and sauna, although small, were a welcome addition. Room qua;ity was good for a double room. The problem was I booked for family of four sharing a room. i thought this would be a family size room but it wasn't. It was a double room with an additional two fold down beds. No real complaints except it was a bit of a squeeze. Just a suggestion, the hotel should try and get a few proper family size rooms. Other than that it was an excellent stay.

Recent short stay
Excellent value for money. Friendly helpful staff. Didn't eat in the hotel but would have liked to a the menu looked good. Although situated near an airport the double glazing obviously works didn.t hear one plane or any traffic noise.

Needs refurbishment
Several members of the staff were friendly and helpful but whilst the size, amenities and cleanliness of the room was fine, the carpet was stained and the general look was dull and dated. We did not enjoy the food at dinner, an omelet was dry and a pizza short on toppings also the eggs on the breakfast buffet had been sitting for too long and had become over cooked. At least, the room price was fair.

Poor example of the Novotel Brand
Selected this hotel as stayed a number of years ago. Was annoyed to discover that since my last stay parking charges had been introduced, not having to pay for parking in Newcastle Centre being a contributing factor in selecting this hotel. I mentioned this at reception and was told that I wouldn't be charged, only to be charged on checkout.Overall the hotel is fine, negative points on this trip:- The bathroom sink drain gave off a bery bad smell, as if a cleaning product hadn't been put down there in a long time.- The bed was huge, which is great, but the sheets were only just wide enough to cover the top of the bed and therefore couldn't be tucked in which caused a lot of crumpling and discomfort.- Not sure if the barman was having a bad day, but on returning to the hotel at 10pm on Saturday night, his attitude considering the bar was empty was poor.Positives- Breakfast was good.- Reception arranged a taxi for me which arrived on time.In summary, have stayed at Novotels in the UK, Europe and North America and sadly this one just didn't live up to the brand standards I would expect.

Fair for the price
We paid ¿¿40 for one night. Room and bathroom were nice but basic. Toilet was separate from bathroom and was in need of attention in terms of decor. The toilet did not in any way meet the standard of the bathroom or bedroom. Bathroom was flooded after a quick shower. Again, very fair for the price, clean and basic although toilet room/cupboard needs upgrading
