Clean but shabby
From the street, Gallagher's looks bright and modern, but step inside and it's 1970. The smell of cooking oil pervades the lobby. Check-in is smooth and efficient, but the trip from the "car park" to reception--up and down hallways--is long, confusing, and rather dismaying. Clearly, the hotel has not seen a lick of paint in 40 years. The carpets are old, stained, and worn; the hallways are dim (actually, probably a good thing); and the rooms just about adequate. Breakfast is advertised as being served from 6:30 to 10 am, but when I arrived at 9 on Saturday morning, nothing was set up, one person was on duty, and the coffee had not even been made.A cab driver told us that the hotel had been taken over by the bank; that might explain why it appears to be operated by people who have no hospitality industry experience. I'd have given this place a "Poor" rating except that the staff are trying hard.

Center of town
Hotel is in the centre of Letterkenny. Staff friendly and helpful. Hot chocolate on arrival was a lovely touch and much welcomed after a long journey. Room clean and comfortable with flat screen tv. Good choice of food for breakfast. Overall good place to stay and would come back.

Brilliant Hotel
Had a 3 night stay here.Hotel was excellent only one thing wrong was the chairs in room looked rather dirty and would need replaced. apart from that hotel was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the hotel was beautiful. Hotel is well situated . Thanks Gallaghers for a wonderful comfortable stay.

Great location, great prices, great hospitality.
I regularly visit Donegal for business, this Is in my view the best value for money for the business traveller in letterkenny. Rooms are clean, compfortable and the hotels central location is ideal. The food is good also with an excellent breakfast option. Overall it has a nice modern look and feel to it.
