Having read earlier reviews I was a little concerned about our 4 day stay over the last Bank Holiday weekend.However I am happy to say that my wife and I did not experience any of the problems previously highlighted.We were greeted at reception by Emanuel who was polite and informative. Our room was not quite ready (arrived at 1.30 pm) and were told to return within the hour. Our suitcases were taken from us and secured. Emanuel gave us directions towards the Scare Cour and advised us of a nice caf¿¿ en route to have some lunch.We returned at around 4pm and our room was ready. We were greeted this time by Gerrard who was nothing like how he had been described in previous reviews, he was polite and quite charming. We were on the 4th floor the elevator was working.Our room was very modern and clean and had a flat screen tv, tea and coffee and a hairdryer in the bathroom. There was also an electronic safe in the cupboard which was big enough to take a laptop, there was also free wifi in the room.The bathroom was nice with a large powerful shower.Breakfast was served from 0630 - 10.00 and consisted of fruit juices cereals, croissants and other pastries, cold meats and cheese, yoghurts, fruit, boiled eggs, more than enough to start the day and cost a very reasonable 10 euros each.The location of the hotel is a little way out but is only a few yards from the Metro station and is right on the line that takes you into the heart of Paris in only a few stops and takes about 10 minutes.Some reviewers have commented on the location and whilst it is predominantly an African dominated area my wife and I never felt uncomfortable or threatened in any way and that includes arriving back at the Hotel late at night. You will encounter this in any City.If you are looking for a comfortable affordable Hotel just a few stops from the heart of Paris then I would recommend this HotelWe travelled on the Eurostar arriving at the Gard de Nord, and the Hotel is only two stops away.

Great little hotel!
This hotel is just a couple os blocks away from the Champs Elysees! It is tucked in a little side street. The rooms are updated, the staff is great, and can speak decent english. They have a breakfast buffet available for ¿¿¿ 14. It is in a bright room and has some good choices, especially liked the fresh croissants. It could be a little noisy if you left the windows open, but when closed, the sound was not so bad. Bathrooms were brand new. Te only drawback was that the heating and air conditioning was controlled at the desk, so y had to call down to make any changes. Otherwise, i would definitely stay there again!

Cant stay more than 2 night so scare
No passeport v¿¿rification no restaurant no room service any one to Help for luggages no pansement no service every morning a girl enter the room end ask if we leave today restaurant closed Because of criminal incident.

Find another hotel
My husband and I stayed in this hotel for three nights, beginning on April 19, 2013. We were "greeted" by a hotel employee who looked like he would like to be doing anything other than registering us..unbelievably sullen and non-communicative. Never smiled. Never greeted us, including on subsequent days when we came in and out. Hostile, really. The other two men we met who were, unfortunately, there far less often, were pleasant and able to maintain a somewhat pleasant conversation. Why, one wonders, would a hotel have someone like this working for them? Owners son? Owner? The room was clean and adequate. No chair for sitting and reading. A smallish but clean bed, a tiny desk and desk chair and an ottoman. Looked out on roof of building. Forgot to latch door and maid opened it and looked in at 8:30 the next morning. Breakfast came with our hotel price and was fine - pastries and bread, cereal and yoghurt. Nothing fancy but perfectly okay. The next major concern was the neighborhood. Nothing had prepared us for the type of person we saw on the street or, worse yet, in groups. We have always looked for safe, diverse areas to stay in, such as Las Ramblas in Barcelona and never had any concern about being out at night. We are always careful and aware. But this particular section was something out of a horror movie. We made sure to be back in our room by nightfall, which is not optimal when on holiday. The doors to the hotel were locked only at night, which is to be expected, but also at 12:00 noon in broad daylight. That says something.Having said that, it is near two metro stops (if you're not afraid to go down into them) and a few blocks away from a much less questionable area.This was one of the few bad mistakes we've made selecting accomodations and we would never recommend this hotel (or street) to any visitors to Paris.

Clean, friendly service, well situated
We stayed for a weekend, the reception staff were all very helpful from looking after our bags on arrival and departure to restaurant recommendations to bringing us hot drinks as our kettle in the room wasnt working. Its very close to metro station (2mins walk) get off at marcadet possionieres not chateau rouge. Easy walking distance to Sacre Coeur, and only 3 stops from Gare du Nord. On the direct line to get to Latin Quarter/ notre Dame. Room very clean not massive but more than enough room, excellent shower. We didn't eat breakfast here so cannot comment on food.
