Not an impressive property
For the price point and the name one should expect an out of this world experience. Unfortunately, this property does not do service to the Ritz reputation. For starters my room had very poor fit and finish including, a hole in the wall, gaps around bathroom fixtures and poorly matched wall paper seems. In addition, I was here with a conference and we ate dinner in the 42 Club. To say the service was slow would be an understatement. It was so slow the conference organizers had to decide to cancel the dessert so that we could finally adjourn to our rooms. Another example of not up to the Ritz standards was the placement of soap dispensers in the meeting floor washroom. Instead of permanent dispensers there were cheap plastic bottles which apparently had been used and refilled repeatedly, to the point that the pumps no longer worked. In addition, there was one soap dispenser for every two sinks, set off to the side of one. If you were at the other sink you had to either reach across the person washing his hands at the other sink or walk behind that person.In the defense of the staff who seem marginally trained; the front desk woman did comp out a breakfast when I told her my disappointments. That is actually why I gave a "3" rating as opposed to something less.

The Westchester branch presents the classic Ritz-Carlton experience in every way. From a warm welcome and check-in, to luxurious rooms, to a fond and personalized farewell to every small detail in between, this hotel did not disappoint. This level of service and warmth I have found often to be lacking in the larger and busier Ritz-Carlton properties around the world. Great job to the entire Westchester team!

A Heavenly Stay in White Plains
Visited White Plains for business. Spent two nights at the Ritz Carlton. My arrival was extraordinary. The desk clerk did not simply point me to the elevator after checking in, she actually walked me to it! Room was luxurious; the bathroom out of this world. King size bed was very comfortable. Only places that compare are the upscale Vegas resorts I've stayed in a couple of times). Room had an excellent desk to work at. No connectivity problems with the wi-fi, but you do pay extra for it.

What a lovely hotel
Describing a Ritz-Carlton as being typical may sound derogatory but in this case it is a complement. This is among the best Ritz-Carlton I have stayed in. It is located in downtown White Plains, an easy walk to stores and restaurants. The rooms are exceptionally large with luxury baths and all the normal Ritz amenities. The staff is superb and they do an outstanding job of remember guests names so even if you are only staying two days, the door man and desk clerks call you by name. The only negative is that most guests seem to prefer room service for breakfast so the only venue is the lobby bar. While the food is excellent, its a little awkward and the service can be slow even though it is rarely busy. All in, this is a great hotel.

Fantastic Ritz Experience
Upon arrival at the Ritz-Carlton in White Plains, the strikingly modern architecture blends in with the Westchester skyline. Situated in the heart of the city, the location couldn't have been better. The friendly bell-staff assisted us at check in and promptly escorted us and our luggage to our room. We were travelling in a group and reserved two rooms - which weren't adjacent nor adjoining - yet were on the same floor. We reserved a standard room (which was anything but standard!) The freshly laundered linens and duvets were extremely comfortable and the room was very quiet at night despite the hotel's central location. The bathroom was probably the best asset to the entire room - with a geometric patterned floor and sparkling marble walls with an extra deep soaking tub and rain-shower nozzle made grooming just a bit more special. The lighting also helped in feeling a bit more attractive in the morning... The mini-bar was well stocked (and a bit overpriced) and the in-room iron and ironing board worked perfectly. The only things that could have been better was the value (yet overall was relatively good) - and the wallpaper was missing on one of the walls in our room, exposing the (not terribly unattractive) wall insulation. The staff were very polite and professional and for such a short visit (only one night), we weren't able to take advantage of more of the amenities on-site. Overall, would definitely recommend because of the fantastic service and hospitable experience.
