Staff were second to none
We are literally just home from a two night stay in Dukes. We are local to NI, and were having a short city break. We normally stay at Tara Lodge when in Belfast but when pricing around Dukes came in cheaper for this particular weekend. We stayed for the two nights B&B but our deal also included an evening meal. Everything about the hotel was excellent and we got great value for money. We stayed in room 201 which was located on the second floor ¿¿¿ I had requested in advance that we have a quiet room (away from any noise coming from the bar/restaurant). We certainly got a quiet room and our sleep was completely undisturbed here. The hotel must have good sound proofing throughout as we were thinking we may be the only people in the hotel and then were surprised when we headed down to a full restaurant at breakfast on both mornings. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a huge comfortable bed, plenty of storage, a large TV with plenty of channel choice, tea/coffee making facilities and a very luxurious bathroom. The lighting in the bathroom was great for putting make-up on and the mirror was steam resistant which was a great bonus. The bath was huge and very comfortable, as was the rainfall shower. Food was superb. The breakfasts are cooked to order, which I prefer over a huge buffet. However, there was plenty of fresh fruit, yogurts, bread for toasting, wheaten bread and cereals on offer in a buffet style over and above the cooked breakfast. We both had cooked breakfasts on our first morning and I took an omelette on my second morning, all of which were really delicious and too huge to finish. Although breakfast was busy during our stay staff were very efficient. We took our meal on our first evening. Although the selection was limited i.e. the full menu was not on offer ¿¿¿ there were still plenty of options. We both had scampi for starter and hake for main ¿¿¿ both of which were fresh and tasty. For dessert we had chocolate brownie and Eton mess. The Eton mess was excellent ¿¿¿ probably one of the best I have had anywhere! After our meal we were able to stay on at our table and enjoy the DJ who is there until about 1am on a Saturday night. The hotel is situated at the top end of Botanic Avenue. There are lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby and it is within walking distance to the city centre which is about 10-15 minutes away on foot. Just to finish on the staff. The staff we encountered were absolutely excellent and a true credit to this hotel. We were welcomed by a friendly female receptionist and a friendly male receptionist checked us out. In between times, they were always polite and genuinely wanted to help. We were served in the restaurant by a lovely young gentleman who was friendly, helpful and more than polite. I would and will recommend a stay in Dukes to everyone! I also look forward to coming back to this comfortable and safe hote

Lovely room
I was pleasantly surprised by the generous size of the room. Very comfortable bed and good breakfast next morning. The hotel is well situated for theatres, restaurants etc. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Excellent hotel
Just stayed here for one night in Belfast after a stay in Balymena. On checking in at dukes of queens found the lady on reception an absolute dream, full of enthusiasm and beyond helpful. Rooms are gorgeous, spacious and still retain gothic windows but with an ultra modern clean fresh make over. Beds were super comfy too. When packing up, turns out I dropped a white gold and diamond dress ring, unknowingly we left cases with concierge and checked out, went shopping, then when I came back around 4 hours later the maid had handed the ring into reception. Couldn't believe it, staff at this hotel are an absolute credit to it's success. From the reception who are happy to help with anything or offer advice to the maid who cleaned the place perfectly and handed in my ring. Would definitely be my first choice if I ever go back to Belfast. Sunday Carvery is also the perfect hangover cure. Absolutely loved my stay couldn't recommend the place enough. Perfect location for daytime wandering with lots of restaurants and bars near by, and a short cab ride away from all other nightlife entertainment! Just perfect!

Excellent hotel in pleasant part of town
I stayed here for one night as part of a business and it was very pleasant hotel. From City Hall to Duke's Hotel I was about ¿¿4 in a taxi, so still reasonably close to the main City Centre. The room I stayed in was very modern in decor, with a large flat screen TV, king size bed and a lovely large bathroom with seperate shower rather than the usual over-bath shower.Breakfast was buffet style, and offered plenty of options. Staff couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant during my stay, and I would have no hesitation in staying there again should the option present itself.

beautiful hotel and staff
perfect. staff lovely and really helpful. breakfast was lovely, great choice and can chose as little or as much as you like. I had full Irish twice and then eggs benedict with bacon instead of ham the third day, which was particularly nice. Bed was lovely. room lovely and bathroom great size, particularly the walk in waterfall type shower. We had late drinks in the bar both Friday and Saturday night with a DJ. On the Saturday we had a three course meal with cocktail making class before, which was included in the hotel price. Cocktail making was great fun and took away our two cocktails.dinner was lovely, good choices which we had to make that morning. I had duck pate followed by steak and then creme brulee. all gorgeous and well cooked.we also got a complimentary champagne cocktailcannot fault the hotel, ameneties, food or staffgood location, 10 minute walk to town, 2 minute walk to local shops, cafe's, bars and restaurants and bus stops nearby will definately return if in Belfast and recommend to anyoneI did not go into swimming pool or fitness centre so cannot comment
