claustrophobic rooms
Smallest possible hotel room I have ever been into. Very unpleasant, because there is no window. The only good thing was that I had no problem getting up in the morning: I just wanted to get out of here! Do not go here, it is just not worth it.Breakfast was unappealling and got a refund for it. Food area disappointing given the price (I paid ¿¿62 pounds, this was in June 2010 -- Tripadvisor won't let you review places you have been more than a year ago, but the rooms won't have changed much).

The owner was rude and he had a bad attitude to his business .
I stayed at the Nite Nite on the 18th of May with my wife. on arrival we was met be a porter who checked us in. the swipe card to was not working properly to the room. The corridor smelt of skunk cannabis. The room was too small and there was a sewer smelling smell coming from the shower area. There was no windows in the room, the air conditioning was not working. I went for breakfast in the morning and was told by the owner that he does not do boiled eggs, he was rude to me and made me feel very negative toward him. when eating the breakfast i found 2 hairs in the breakfast which made me feel ill. when i told the owner that i found the hairs in the food, i was told that it is not a hair from him and i told him that it was not one of mine. he gave me a refund after being very rude and abrupt towards me. all i wanted to do was have a nice stay there as it looked like a nice place to stay from the photos, instead i left shortly after. i booked for 2 nights and stayed for 1, i was charged for the night i did not stay. This place i would not recommend this place to stay for couples to save a little money, i would say spend an extra ¿¿20 and stay some where you would be treated like a customer not a piece of mud. leave this hole to drug smoking backpackers and pissed up stag parties.

Great cheap shelter from the rain
I booked this hotel as I knew about it from the guy who did the branding - some years ago. I was working very late on the phones for Comic Relief in March in Birmingham so couldn't get a train home. So I thought I'd give it a try. It was absolutely throwing it down by the time I left for the hotel and it was a bit tricky to find in those conditions. I got a warm welcome and was followed in by some incredibly drunk lads carrying in their almost-comatose mate but it was late and I needed to sleep. Plus I don't think they were a problem. I had to get up early the next day so I didn't stay more than about 6 hours. It was a great bed. Very cosy with the tv there in front of you. Pitch black :-) My only criticism is that there isn't much room for people with baggage. You'd have to do some sort of Heath Robinson arrangement with a chair.I've rated it as very good because I cannot rate is good. It cost ¿¿40 for the night which isn't bad. I'd definitely stay again to see if I gain a better impression. I don't remember if they serve breakfast or not

Excellent Value For Money
Myself and my partner, recently stayed here as a request for my birthday. We arrived at New Street station in the pouring rain & checked in late after a bit of miss direction on my part! Receptionist very nice and let me have a hair dryer on the house without having to leave a deposit. Funnily enough, the accommodation was bigger than I expected! Lovely comfy bed and fully soundproofed room with mood lighting. Only flaw was the bathroom door magnetic disk was missing so our door swung open but with a bit of DIY our end was sorted. Bed was exceedingly comfortable and the late checkout was appreciated.Would highly recommend for a inexpensive stop over!

Somewhere to rest your head.......not a lot more
I travelled to Birmingham for work purposes. The hotel looked slick and contemporary from the outside, and it's a short walk from New Street station. The receptionist spoke like a robot, not a warm welcome, and I had to allow a ¿¿50 authorisation on my debit card in case of damages (we've had lots of groups of males wreck our rooms). The room is windowless, compact and bijou, and fine for a lone traveller. I liked the style of the cabin type room, which is basically a bed with a massive TV at the end of it, with a narrow walkway to the side. There's a perfectly nice en suite shower room. I wouldn't want to stay here with my boyfriend however, there's just not enough room.Pros: egyptian cotton bed linen, beautifully clean and silky smooth. Very comfortable bed. Very friendly barman. Nice and quiet despite being in the city centre. I slept well.Cons: The cafe bar stops serving food after 8 pm. The free WiFi only worked for about 5 minutes at a time. The receptionist's patter sounded like a recorded message. No hotel/local information in the room. The TV didn't work, which I think is essential for a lone traveller, when I asked for help at reception, I was told to remove the keycard from the control panel, (which controls heat, light, and television), sit in the dark for 5 minutes, put the card back, then press the power button....it still didn't work.Overall, what should have felt like a bit of a 'work jolly', felt a bit miserable. I was hungry, and bored. If I get sent to Birmingham again, I will book a room elsewhere.
