Lovely vintage hotel, enjoyable stay
Myself and husband stayed in Arbutus Hotel two weeks ago on a Groupon 2-night deal including a discount to a local spa. The hotel is located in the heart of Killarney with easy access to loads of bars and restaurants, with Killarney Outlet just round the corner and with at least 2-3 parking lots nearby (the closest one is free at the weekends but would be very busy, 2nd closest is in the next door hotel - 1 Euro per hour, hotel¿¿¿s own free parking is 5 min walk up the street).We stayed in Room 127, double, spacious, non smoking room facing the inner courtyard. The whole hotel has its best and most glorious years behind it, but we still found it very comfortable, lovely and with that old quaint charm. There were bits that would need some TLC but the hotel felt very clean and by no means was it below standards. The lobby/ reception and the adjacent living room with fireplace were actually absolutely stunning and it was great to be able to enjoy a glass of wine in front of the fire in such beautiful surroundings. The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. The breakfast was really nice with good choice and simple yet well balanced tasty food. The famous Buckley¿¿¿s Bar which is part of the hotel proved to be fantastic and very lively with live music on a Saturday night. All in all we were really happy with our stay in Arbutus, it was a good choice of accommodation and we would gladly come back.

Lovely hotel but watch the date!
We stayed at this town centre hotel for only one night and chose it because of its location, its ambience and the charm of its staff. In none of these were we disappointed. The room/suite (we had a superior room) was spacious, well appointed and spotless. Breakfast was excellent and the public areas were welcoming and full of character. The only warning we would give is not to stay here over the May bank holiday when Killarney hosts a car rally. Some of the participants obviously decided to have an impromptu rally round the town during most of the night before the actual event and this lasted until after 5am meaning that we only got an hours sleep. The hotel owner was understanding and sympathetic to our complaint and refused payment for the night although we are sending him a token payment to cover our breakfasts and other facilities we used. To sum up - an excellent hotel and worth visiting but avoid going there (or perhaps even going to Killarney) during the rally!!

Old World Charm
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Arbutus Hotel,Killarney.We were made feel immediately welcome by the very friendly staff.This hotel retains an authentic,beautiful old world charm.It is nestled in the town centre convenient to shops,restaurants etc.it has a lovely ambience and it has a cosy and homely atmosphere.

Amazing Experience!
I stepped in the front door of the Arbutus Hotel and I felt like I was stepping into another world - a world of wonder.. It immediately felt right and I knew that my sister and I had made the right choice for our weekend away... We were greeted in a way (by Michelle) that made us feel like we were the most important people in the world and that standard never dropped for one minute throughout our stay. We loved the room, and the beautiful old world feel of the hotel, with the most unique and tasty pieces of antique furniture throughout. The breakfast was something special - kept us going all day! Every mouthful was just top class, especially those little scones! Then when you stepped outside, you were right in the middle of the buzz and joy that is Killarney Town... All the staff were wonderful - kind, helpful and warm. I am going back again in May with some friends and really look forward to it! I would recommend the Arbutus to anyone who takes their weekends away very seriously! :-)

Great place for breakfast.
We didn't stay here but popped in for breakfast. Delicious! and considering you are getting a full cooked to order hotel breakfast, and a buffet with freshly baked scone and gingerbread, fantastic value at ¿¿¿12.50. Friendly staff and served until 11pm. Great way to start the day in Killarney!
