A base from which to explore.....
Stayed here solo from 19th to 26th March 2013.It's just over an hour's drive from Tenerife South airport in a car.The apartments were easy to find, but getting a parking space was something different - drove round and round for about 40 mins and ended up parking two streets away (did manage to get closer that night though when workers had gone home). My apartment's balcony (406) looked over a residential car park (which although not the world's greatest vista, was useful to know for parking later in the week), and the apartment was basic but adequate: - bathroom with sink, toilet and 3/4 length bath; a 'kitchen corner' with two ring electric hob, sink and fridge.TV in the room with a mixture of Spanish channels, small dining table and surprisingly comfortable twin beds (well, at least one was - didn't use them both!).Being on the 'shady' side of the building, the apartment did get a little cool at times - but I was there in March (20-26 degrees C outside during the week - just colder inside). The electric hobs did warm the room quite well, though......The older town for really nice restaurants and the sea front was about a 15/20 mins walk away, depending on how far you wanted to go - lots of selection with most places having reasonable prices.I was a little disappointed to find that wifi was only available in reception or the bar at a cost of ¿¿¿15 per week. It was inconvenient having to come downstairs with laptop of tablet every time I wanted to use the internet. There were two public computers in reception for internet usage at a charge. The staff were very friendly: - reception staff, cleaning staff, - even the barman smiled after four days......., and the rooms were regularly cleaned with fresh towels supplied. The apartments have a little shop attached, with other small shops close by, and a supermarket and pharmacy are about 100 yards down the road.If you like animals, I can thoroughly recommend 'Loro Parque' which is about 15/20 mins by foot from the apartments - over 350 species of parrots, white tigers, gorillas, chimps, penguins, seals, reptiles etc.... you get the idea! There are also animal shows - parrots, Orcas (killer whales), dolphin and seals.I'm not normally one who always agrees with performing animals, but Loro Parque has won many conservation awards, and the animals are treated with respect.Injured wild animals are treated here before being released back into the wild.I always ask myself the same question at the end of a trip: 'Would I stay there again?'- the answer is simple - if I did not need to use my laptop or tablet, then 'Yes', I would stay at Tenerife Ving again, but would ask for a room on the sunnier side of the building. As a previous reviewer has said - 'You get what you pay for', and apart from the issues mentioned above, I was quite happy there - it does its job!

Basic, noisy but good value for money
Good points - only a five minute walk from the beach, rooms basic but clean, drinks are very reasonably priced, the wine is only a euro a glass but there's a reason for that as it tastes like vinegar.Lager was ok though & only 2 euros a pint.Bad points- the hotel was very noisy, think part of the hotel is residential & we were woken up early every morning by the noise coming from both inside & outside the hotel. We hired a car & had to drive round for ages to find a parking space.

Tenerife Ving - You get what you pay for.
Just arrived back from a one week, reasonably last minute break to Tenerife.Suprised to read the other reviews saying that this hotel is a 4* as in my opinion it would be a 3* at a push.I stayed in a twin room on a self catering basis with my mum.The bedroom itself was basic with two single beds. The living area was reasonably spacious with a sofa, table and set of drawers - however there wasn't enough space to put away all of our belongings in the wardrobe and drawers, and there certainly weren't enough hangers to use in the wardrobe - so if you are planning on staying here make sure you take some of your own!Kitchen/cooking facilities - as one of the pictures on this site shows you get a two burner electric hob and a fridge.... There is no kettle, no toaster, no microwave and no oven - fortunately our intention was not to eat in a lot or else we would have struggled. The rooms are cleaned everyday except Saturday's when the cleaners rest. I have never experienced this before in a hotel and wasn't overly impressed - however when the room was cleaned they did a good job.We had an apartment that was situated directly above the child's play area which got noisy on the weekends with childrens parties... Not so good when you're taking a lie down for a siesta but good if you have children of your own as the kids seemed to love it.The bar in the hotel is reasonably priced at ¿¿¿1 per glass of wine and ¿¿¿2 for a pint of Dorada, which was a nice place to meet up with the family before heading into town (which is about a 10 minute walk to the square with no overly steep hills). We found the reception/security staff quite helpful - the main doors are closed at midnight however reception is staffed 24hr so you just have to ring the buzzer. The pool looks a lot bigger than it is in the hotel's official photos - however with the time of year we stayed and the pool not being heated it was a bit too nippy to go for a swim. Also, I can imagine during peak season it would be difficult to get a sunbed as we struggled one day getting up on the roof at 10am.Final point to note if planning to visit in the summer - there is no air conditioning in the rooms! Ok for us in November - don't fancy it in July! All in all though we had a fabby holiday... And this hotel was value for money... Next time I may just spend a few pennies more.

Good hotel for the price we paid!
My husband and i stayed in the Tenerife Ving from Christmas Eve until New Years Eve and had no problems here, for the price we paid we were happy with the hotel. Ok would not say its luxury but it was clean, which is the most important thing to us. Unfortunetly we had a cockroach in our room 1 night but it was by no means infested, we saw 1 other in the hallway which i chased with bug spray and that was it but this can only be expected whils abroad. We didnt eat at all at the hotel so cant comment on meals at all. Ladies a word of warning there are no hairdriers in the room there is 1 at reception but its quite hopeless so take ur own!The swimming pool is on the 7th floor and is small, we never used it but would prob be fine if u went up early.Just a few mins walk from the beach which is clean and nice and a 15 min walk from the town! All in all a good holiday!

Excellent, can't fault it
stayed in the Ving during late October with a large group on a swimming camp - 4 adults and 30 kids. The hotel was very conformtable and suited our needs perfectly. The rooms were good, cleaned everyday, the food was of a very high standard, and the hotel was perfectly situated for the beach and close access to the swimming pool. the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The views from the 7th floor pool terrace were awesome,We would recommend it,
