We stayed at this hotel for two nights over Easter whilst taking in a Rugby game at the Stade Mayol. The Hotel was booked as part of a Eurostar package covering travel and accommodation and I'll try and be objective in this report.First - the positives. Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the station and a fairly short and pleasant walk to the towncentre, harbour front and stadium. The Hotel is clean and the staff friendly. It has free Internet and wi-fi access and good door security. Others who stayed in our party were generally impressed, however...The negatives. We were given one of the two "ensuite" rooms on the first floor next to the breakfast room. It is not ensuite - the toilet is next door, tiny and accessed through a door about 5'8" high. Not good for an over 6-footer seeking to use this thing in the middle of the night (The concussion is improving). The toilet is in full view of the breakfast room (so don't sleep "au naturel" unless you want to put the breakfasters off of their croissants) and we were assured that it was for our sole use (I doubted that). The breakfast clatter starts at about 5.45, so sleep after that is impossible. The sink did not drain and the water sounds like the Trevi fountain starting up. The "ping" of the Hotel access sensor is clearly heard, as is the snoring of the occupant next door, likewise people clatering on the uncarpeted floors and stairs. There is very limited storage in the room (and no hairdryer, although you can ask for one from reception). No tea/coffee making facilities.Breakfast is fine, as long as you can grab a knife as there appear to be about 5 for each 20 guests. Likewise, the serving table is tiny so it is a bit of a free for all. Bread, cakes, jam, cereal, juice, cheese, coffee, limited choice of tea, and ham (as long as you nag for it) for about 8 euros.So, in summary. The hotel is fine as long as you do not stay on the first floor. Would we stay there again? Probably not, unless we could be guaranteed an ensuite room that is relatively quiet.

Enjoyed my stay here.. + Hotel was spotlessly clean, with a nice bathroom and comfortable bed.+ Staff and cleaners friendly (if not the most useful..)+ Ideal location to see Toulon, 2 minutes from the train station and right in the town center.- the lift was broke, and the stairs were the worst I've ever come across, and I was travelling with lots of luggage and staying on the 4th floor... the receptionist didn't really seem to care much or offer an apology, either.- Room was tiny, the bed took up about 80% of the floor space. I think we had an unlucky room though, we caught a glimpse of the neighbours' which looked really big.- Wi-Fi was OK but not the most reliable! McDonald's around the corner might be more useful.

Stayed in the celenya for one night before flying back to the UK early the next morning. arrived at hotel at 2pm but was told that room wouldn't be ready until 3. not a problem as we had a bottle of wine at oasis brasserie just down the road. checked in at 3 and was pleased with Paris themed room. Very compact but nicely presented. bathroom spotless. Had to ask for the code for the wifi and even then it didn't work. i even tried to tell the guy in the cafe that the hub would just need resetting but he said he didn't know how to do it. that was the only problem with the whole place. if you're not bothered about the wifi, fill yer boots.

We stayed one night in the Hotel Celenya in a double room and overall I would rate the hotel as being OK. It suited the one night stop over but had we stayed longer I think we would have had to ask to change rooms. We were given a room that was immediately next to, almost within, the breakfast room and opposite the kitchen on the first floor so from 6am onwards there was a lot of noise. There was also noise at other points from people going up and down the stairs as there was little to block sound between our room and the lift and stairwell. The room itself was OK, fairly basic and slightly unusually decorated in black and white with mostly all hard surfaces: tiles on the floor rather than carpet and metal chairs with a glass table below the window. The hotel¿¿¿s rooms were meant to be themed and it would be difficult to guess what the theme was in this room but the room had the feel of having been added just to make use of some extra space (there was only one other bedroom on this floor). The bathroom was fairly compact with a semi-wet room effect as the shower was next to and over the toilet and the shower curtain ran across them both so there was no escaping it getting drenched. The room was at a decent rate though, clean and tidy, and the staff that we encountered on the front desk were nice. The location was very good, making it an easy walk to the town centre and harbour, though on a Sunday evening in late October we found that there was very little going on in Toulon and not much open at all. We were able to park on a side street behind the hotel on the one way system (roads are very narrow to drive along and manoeuvre in!) which was free in the evening and up to 9am but we were lucky to find a space (best to plan on using a car park).

We had a 2 night stop over in Toulon and while there is not a great deal going on in Toulon, the hotel is great value for money. The themed rooms verge a little on the tacky side, but they offer good sized bedrooms with en suite shower, beds are big and comfortable and the air conditioning is excellent.We were on the 4th floor with heavy backpacks and the lift wasn't working, wi-fi is slow and the breakfast is just ok. We got the night train out of Toulon and hotel staff were happy to store our bags for the day and let us use the toilets to get changed at night. It was a generally pleasant stay.
