budget place good location
A tiny hotel quite near the bus station. The restaurant next door serves decent breakfast and nice South American meals. The reception staff was friendly and the rooms were tidy. After the first restless night they gave me a quiet room towards the "garden".The other side is heavily trafficed. Nearby there is a beautiful market but on weekends be careful with your belongings! I got "rid off" a new mobile phone and some cash, The old town is nearby and the city commercial center.Good value for the money.

Due to circumstances I was not able to get in time to this hotel although I had booked a room. I called them the day before and explained them the problem. The responsible was so kind to call booking.com and canceled the booking himself without extra costs for me (normally I was supposed to pay the whole amount since I was too late with my cancellation).

Comfortable Value-For- Money Hotel In Good Location
This is not a four star city hotel but it does well deserve its "three star urbano hotel" rating. We stayed here for one night in mid-December and found the accommodation basic but very clean and more than comfortable enough for more than a few days stay. What's more when we came to pay our bill we realised just how much value-for- money this hotel offers. It is situated in the old part of the city within two minutes walk of one of the city's main markets and of many typically Canarian/ Spanish small restaurants, cafeterias and bars.We are going back to Santa Cruz in early February and will stay again at Hotel Tanausu.

Two seperate overnight stays
A cost effective hotel situated in the old town, clean and well kept with helpful staff. Near Mercado de Nuestra Senora de Africa and the street markets - well worth a visit. The hotel is within walking distance of the bus station. But if you have heavy cases, take a taxi to the bus station. The bus to and from Tenerife South Airport costs about six euros 20 centimos one way. The buses are clean, efficient, and air conditioned. If you get a chance, buy a Bono Bus Card costing about twelve euros. It can be used on buses, trams and most public transport. For each journey taken, the card is put in the machine on the bus or tram, recording the journey. The Bono Bus Card can be used for several people - ideal for families. the cost is about 30% less than normal fares and is valid for one year.There are several internet cafes near Hotel Tanausu, one just five minutes walk up the hill from the Tanausu. Unfortunately, there is not a breakfast service (no restaurant) at the Tanausu Hotel, although I found several places open for a traditional Spanish breakfast, one of which is two minutes walk from the hotel. There is also a local bakery shop, selling freshly made bread and cakes.
