Good Value for Money
We stayed here for the May Bank Holiday Weekend after availing of an online special "Budget Break". Our expectations we not high. We had a realistic expectation of what we expected to get for our money. The location of the hotel is convenient enough to cork city and can be reached on foot. It is up on a hill so this should be considered if you have small children, walking back up from the city might not be suitable, as its a very steep climb. We checked in with a friendly, welcoming more mature gentleman. Our room was plenty big for 2 adults and 2 children with two double beds. The decor, quality of furnishings and overall appearance of the room was poor. Although it was clean. Breakfast on our first morning was slightly chaotic but the next two mornings were much better managed. The choice for breakfast is basic but the quality of the cooked food seemed to be quite high. My husband used the gym on one occasion and commented that it was quite tight. We did not use the pool. We ate dinner on our 3rd night, this was included in our package. There was a very good choice on offer, the service was very good and the food itself was tasty. My only gripe if I had to make one about the food is the choice of oil used to cook the food. The odour from the oil is quite heavy. Personally, I'd use something else. I enjoyed a beautiful Baileys Coffee at the end of my meal which was heaven. The children were welcome in the restaurant which was great. I also noticed it was very busy and there were local people sitting on both sides of us. This to me, is a good sign if local people use a hotel restaurant. I would recommend the Montenotte if visiting cork. Its not somewhere I would choose to stay for a treat but its a good base if visiting Cork. Not forgetting the very helpful, pleasant staff, where would any hotel be without them : ) - Thank You.

Exceeded our expectations
This hotel was a bit challenging to find, but was worth the search. Room was clean and comfortable, bed and bathroom were nice, and there was good Wi-Fi and free parking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for helping make our trip such a pleasure.

We have to say a big thank you to all the staff at the montenotte hotel who made my sisters birthday such a great night especially stephen who looked after us so well for the night.From the planning stage to the night of the party everyone was so helpful and could not do enough for us.We had friends staying there and enjoyed it so much they are planning their next visit.

At first we planned to stay in this hotel for 2 nights. But when the nights were over we decided to stay in. The service was excellent and so the food! Rooms are comfortable having plenty of space. We liked the hotel and so we encourage you to go and please yourself in this welcoming and a warm hotel...
