My introduction to the hotel did not go well. After a transatlantic flight I arrived about 9 am for a two-night stay. Reception pointed out that check-in is 2 pm and I explained the flight schedules from North America don't allow for the hotel's times. I offered to pay the rate for early check-in, but she was not to be moved, although she did allow that a room might be ready at noon. The hotel's location in an industrial park doesn't offer any time-killing attractions so I had no choice but to get the excellent shuttle bus back to the airport and a train into central Amsterdam. I visited a museum and just about managed to stay awake long enough to get the train back to the airport and renew acquaintance with my new pal the shuttle bus driver. It didn't help my mood to discover the following day that a couple on the same flight were allowed in their room early by another receptionist.Despite the sour start things picked up considerably, not least when I saw my room was spacious, clean and modern. I did have problems with the lights before I discovered you had to put your room card in a slot on the wall beside the door to activite the electricity. Apart from energy-saving, it ensures you never lose your card.The hotel facilities are first-class and the sports bar was a particular delight with its always available menu and drinks.For a non-business traveller like me it would seem a strange location to stay. But the price was very good and the free shuttle bus service made the trip downtown easy. It left every 30 minutes for the 15-minute trip to Schipol. From there, it was another 15 minutes by very frequent train to the central station. The bus -- the most luxurious of all the hotel shuttles at Schipol -- starts at 6 am and the final trip to the hotel from the airport leaves at 11:45pm.I treated myself to the breakfast buffet one morning and while the variety and quality of the food was good, it is overpriced at 27 Euros.Travelling with my iPhone I needed a voltage converter for charging and asked at the front desk to borrow/rent one as I have done at other hotels. This hotel makes you buy one. The price was reasonable but...The main reason for choosing this location was that I was attending a football match at Amsterdam Arena. My choice was perfect. I had easy access to the airport train after the game while the mobs were besieging the other train lines. I was back to the hotel quickly and able to enjoy a few drinks in the sports bar, knowing I would be unhurried in the morning despite an early flight because I was already virtually at the airport.After such a poor start, I ended my stay with a much more positive attitude.

Stayed 4 nights this time. We always feel that we are welcome back at this hotel. And as always, we never leave disapointed. Service is great, The staff always give You The feling that You Are important and they do that litle extra that gives The stay The special experience. Breakfast is great, although extremly expensive. We had bikes for two days and used them a lot. The area around the hotel is very nice. Amsterdam Bose is a Large park filled with life and all kind of activitis. And the training area with swimming pool and saunas that you can use for free is very nice no a rainy day.

We stayed there to see the Europa Final and really enjoyed the stay, the hotel is great and the shuttle bus is an excellent extra. We did eat at the restaurant which is not cheap but the food to a great standard, we both had different choices and the staff again are friendly as mentioned in previous reviews. The only downside was getting back after the game as taxis are very expensive, but that is not the hotels fault but it is a fact if you're planning to burn the midnight oil in the city. The room was comfortable and always left clean. The only disappointing bit was; we had specifically booked and had confirmed a queen sized bed, we were give a twin beds! Not good on a romantic getaway for us.

My second visit lived up to my previous so things have not changed. The rooms overlooking the garden area are very nice and quiet. the leisure facilities perfect for pre flight relaxation. Bar area very lively. All in all just as good as my last visit. The buses to and from the airport are every half hour so time your trip well.

This is definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed with, the service is fantastic and the rooms are modern, clean and roomy. Particular I'm a very big fan of their beds, very comfortable and soft! The hotel also have two restaurants, one more "upper class" and one Sports bar in a typical bar environment also with food to reasonable prices. The hotel is not close to Amsterdam, but perfect if you need quick access to the airport - the hotel also have free shuttle busses between the hotel and schiphol airport.
