As good as before.
We were at the Eva Hotel 4 years ago and were impressed. This time we did consider somewhere a bit cheaper but I am glad we went back. Had one of the rooms with a balcony overlooking the Marina as before, and the hotel is as good as it was the first time. Excellent breakfast and were able to use the pool as the weather was good. Staff friendly and helpful. This hotel is probably the the most expensive that I have found in Faro but the views overlooking the Marina and the Square are great - worth paying the extra (there are cheaper rooms but the view is not the as good).

Faro Marina hotel
Stayed here in April. Special offer for room overlooking Marina. Room perfectly normal. Uncomfortable pillows as in so many hotels. The rooftop pool area is excellent with nice seating, bar and a good view over the whole area. Bus station practically adjoining (which is not as bad as it sounds. Also train station five minute walk.Pleasant breakfast restaurant with great views.Entrance to old town (which is lovely) practically opposite.Dinner in evening enjoyable and reasonable.Staff in reception not welcoming.

Bright inviting room and rooftop restaurant
Hotel Eva is nicely decorated, the room and bathroom are comfortably appointed and the balcony on the marina side gave a great view of the town centre and marina. The restaurant had good food for breakfast and lunch (I didn't try dinner) and was located on top of the hotel, so the view was good. The staff were multilingual and very helpful for getting around Faro. As someone who doesn't like to take the elevator for one or two floor stops, I was pleased to find the stairs easily and they were tiled and conducive to use.

Between good and very good...
Location is good... breakfast terrace fantastic and the breakfast itself is also very good. WiFi horrible, very slow. Expected more from a 4 star hotel. Other than that, it's one of those big, rather efficient hotels with absolutely no atmosphere or character. It worked well for us. In spite of the fact that our room faced the street, traffic noise disappeared more or less because of double windows and double curtains. Good!

first impressions
my mother and i recently returned after 3 day break in hotel eva. It was early may and fairly quiet. Hotel is centrally located and lovely views from roof restaurant.Our room overlooked the street but wasnt too noisy in evening. There were no tea making facilities in our room and shower leaked a bit. Rooms are bit dated. Breakfast is buffet and lots to choose from. We ate in restaurant one evening and food was good but there is plenty of eating places nearby. Shops are on your doorstep and bus station is round the corner. Some of the reception staff were very helpful and a few very unhelpful and rude. Other staff were lovely and friendly.
