Excellent for a quiet week
Recently had an all inclusive holiday one week with Saga at this hotel and would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a quiet week away with no piped music, no tannoy announcements, no noisy games in swimming pools, good food (self service), comfortable beds with good linen. Ideally placed on beach plus plenty of loungers around pools and easy walk to Estepona Port where there any many places to get a coffee. There is a Sunday morning market (not bad) to pass a couple of hours. Good cheap local bus to main town and connection if you want to go further into Puerto Banus or Marbella.

A very pleasant week. NJ
3rd May until 10th May All inclusive.When I read the previous three reviews I had to check I was reading about the H10 at Estepona-they did not describe my experience of this hotel.I have travelled to many hotels and expect very high standards. My previous reviews of various hotels will confirm my experience.Maid service was excellent.The pools and gardens are beautifully laid out and maintained to a very high standard. Very little use was made of the sun loungers even though the weather was superb for our whole week.Beautiful sea view and room of a very high standard - apart from the English speaking TV reception - all three channel reception was of a very poor quality.Hotel reception and entertainment area very large - bar service during the day was limited to oneinside bar which also served all day snacks. Staffing levels were kept to a minimum which was inconvenient at times. The day we left the large bar/restaurant near to the pools was opened. Dining was a pleasure. Dining room service was excellent. Breakfast choice catered for all nationalities, luncheon and evening meals were superb. Quality and choice was of a very high standard, and the all inclusive wine was better than most we have tasted. The food was always hot and a microwave was available in the dining room if required. The dinner buffet was superb.Toasters - as always expected - poor performance.Car parking facilities were available - fee for underground parking but numerous nearby spaces available at all times.The pools were vary rarely used-the large one was roped off - not needing the use never checked why.We thought looking at a picture there was a promenade outside the hotel-there is but only stretches the length of the hotel - access is easily available to the beach.Because of the location of the hotel there is a very long uninspiring walk into Estepona and considering the distance the hotel should have provided the use of a courtesy bus - finance ???.Many couples were disappointed at the lack of "strolling" facilities.During our stay of one week noisy guests in the hotel were non existent-never been in a hotel that was so quiet.In a weed covered field next to the hotel was a small abandoned air conditioning unit-no cars and no rubbish.

NOT AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS
The pictures do give a somewhat rose-tinted view of the hotel. The location is ideal if on golfing holiday as I was although about 1 Hour from airport. As a previous contributor, The room had a view waste ground full of old cars and rubbish. The local town is suffering fro recession. No idea why they make everything so expensive instead of trying to intice customers.The food was about average but always found the restaurant staff to friendly and helpful. Only had one evening meal at hotel. Not due to quality just liked sampling local cuisine. Breakfast was ample and good way to stay the day with a glass or two of free Cava. :)Bar staff usually friendly but drinks quite expensive. Most of Pool area still roped off and I could find no reason for this as the weather was above 20C everyday! Rooms were clean airy and well maintained. Balcony with chairs & table. If you like a nice view upgrad to Privilege as you are given view of Med. My friend had this service and felt the extra cost was worth it.

Don't let the pictures fool you!!
We have been staying in hotels throughout Spain for two months. This has been one of the worst experiences we have had! Upon check in, we were put in a room overlooking a field full,of garbage, old cars, appliances etc. front desk changed the room. The swimming pools were all chained off and closed with the exception of one area. This looks like a crime scene. I have never seen such a thing! . All the pools were closed at six pm. It doesn't get dark until about 9:30. The dinner buffet was absolutely terrible. Over cooked, dry fish, potatoes so salty you couldn't eat them, many of the staff were short if not down right rude. I asked the front desk for ice and was told to get it from the bar as I would be charged six euros if they brought it to,the room. Bar staff were verging in rude as well. When I informed the front desk that the mini bar was empty, he said they always are for security reasons...stains on the carpets in hallways...who is staying at this hotel for heavens sake??? Not what you want to deal with on vacation. We are not high maintenance but do expect quality service. No managers to be seen including food and beverage...will never stay at one of these properties again.

Could have been better
First impressions were good. We were upgraded to a seaview room and were not disappointed. It was spacious, clean and the decor was bang up to date. It had an interconnecting door to the room next door which proved a problem with the noisy neighbours we had to put up with.The food was pretty good, but the quality and temperature of it suffers the later you leave it to eat. Get in at opening time and it should be fine, leave it until 8pm or after...forget it, choices rapidly diminish and a lot of it is cold. The staff seemed fairly attentive, but we did have to pipe up and ask them for drinks on a couple of occasions.We were only there for four nights on, what we hoped would be, a relaxing break. However, this was put paid to by noisy neighbours who liked to disrupt all the rooms on our corridor after midnight. After two nights in a row we asked to be moved to a quieter room for our last night. The staff on reception couldn't be less bothered if they tried and were unwilling to help. Amazing when the place was probably only half full. Not the sort of attitude one would expect from a supposed 4 star hotel. If you want a relaxing break - forget it - you won't get it here. All I can say is, for all those who gave this hotel 5 stars are either easily pleased or not well travelled..or both.
