Great Hotel
Just returned from a weeks stay in The Sol Princesa Dacil. This was our first visit to this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised the room on the eighth floor was good with a harbour view very clean and spacious separate bedroom and living area we hired a fridge for the week at a nominal charge also booked a week Wi-Fi use again for a nominal charge the food being half board is very good well presented with a variety of choices available at each meal time the only criticism was minor i.e. the toaster at breakfast was very slow and resulted in some queing and discontent

Great hotel
Just returned from a week's holiday in the Dacil. My second time to stay there and felt it was even better than the previous visit. I had a room on the 6th floor with a seperate sitting room which was fantastic, loads of space, and lovely view over the pool area. Rooms were cleaned every day to a very high standard. Check-in was very efficient and welcoming. Despite some reviews, I found the food was excellent, a great choice every day. I would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to others.

Another return visit
Always had a great stay at the Princesa Dacil. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Room was good. I decided not to upgrade this time as I was only there for a week. For me, the hotel to stay in when I'm in Tenerife.

Not up to SolMelia standards
We booked this hotel following several very successful holidays at Sol Principe Hotel, Torremolinos over the years and have placed favourable review on here to show it. Same group though 3* as opposed to 4* for Torremolinos. Knowing this we upgraded to superior room, which apart from space and a settee it wasn't. A room without a fridge in temperatures of 30C. Not what I expected. No table on the balcony, where do they expect you to put your drink or magazine when sat out there then??? No bathroom stool that might have doubled as a table for the balcony. Air conditioning that was either on or off - no working thermostatic control.Staff seemed to be miserable most of the time, no smiles - I think they could do with a period in Torremolinos to see how to treat and react with customers.Obviously inexperienced reception staff who boooked out key for room safe to my brother but failed to complete the form correctly, which would apparently invalidate any claim. This was only discovered when a claim had to be made!! Wh.en a room keycard needed recoding they did so without any checks on the identity of the person just asking for the room number and upgrading it - that could have been anybody asking for it to be doneWater in dining room 2.20 euros for 1/2 litre - a local shop 200 yards away 1.20 for 8 litres so they had our custom. We all felt that the standard of the food was less than average and the only food or drink available other than in the dining room during service was from the outside bar adjacent to the pool. In fact the best meal we had in two weeks was one when we went on a 10 euro blanket trip, that was a truly great experience. If you wanted toilets while in the reception area you had to either go down two flights of stairs inside or go outside passing the bar and dining room to those used by people from the pool. Neither were really readily accessible to people with mobility problems.Generally everything seemed to be rather dated, for exmple the driveway is crumbling and paint is chipped and faded. The mini-golf has holes in the playing surface and I'm not talking about the hole for the ball!! One customer returned a club where the head had fallen off and the staff even considered charging them for it's poor condition?? Talk about customer service. When a member of the party had items stolen from the room the staff initially seemed to take not a lot of interest until the manager was asked for. It seemed to be handled better then though it still seems that they tried to be more intent to disprove the theft rather than deal with it.To top it all on our final day the place was overrun (and I mean overrun) with numerous teams of teenage schoolchildren who seemed to be out of control. I personally informed the management of the kids sitting sprawled on the steps leading into the hotel, and playing handball amongst themselves making it difficult for guests to get in or out without climbing over them. The person I spoke to walked past the entrance on at least 6 occasions in the next 30 minutes and did absolutely nothing at all about it.All in all this caused me to consider this to be about the worst holiday experiences I have had and I definitely will not be returning to this hotel unless I could be assured of major changes for the better.I usually only write positive reviews but have made an exception on the occasion such is the strength of my disappointment.

GOOD 3 STAR HOTEL
Just returned back from this hotel yesterday and we were very surprised at how good it was , we were upgraded on arrival , hotel is more like a 3 star + , food was of good quality and always hot , staff were fine , and hotel was very clean , having stayed in Tenerife many times it was as good as 4 stars we had stayed in , the rooms don't have air con so this could be an issue in the heat of summer and some of the sun beds were very firm and uncomfortable although you can pay for a mattress which I really don't agree with myself , we would defiantly return if we got it at the right place
