Never again
Needs more than a fresh coat of paint. In need of completely modernising. Location is good. Paid ¿¿35 for a night via late rooms. Would not pay ¿¿70.00. Works were underway to refresh the place. Lift was in a right state, stained and dirty. No signs to apologise for inconvenience. Window on room 130 had screws to hold it closed. Piles of rubbish dumped on the low roof outside the window.

Arrived and... Left within 3 minutes
As we drive into the car park, I thought "my goodness, what on earth have we booked?" Look, I'm not a snob, my partner and I stay in the crappiest places, we travel with backpacks, we "get our heads down" and go exploring. We were in B'ham for a conference today so thought yeah okay let's pay 40 quid for a cheap and cheerful place! There was NOTHING cheerful about this place. Parked the car, approached the entrance with ciggeratte-buts galore under our feet and a party of very scantly dressed women creating a large cloud of smoke and a stench of dope and looking intimidating. "It's fine, once we get into the room we will be ok" I thought. The guy on front desk seemed bored, my partner payed and we were told where our room was. Now, imagine peeling wall paper, the smell of musty carpet and smoke.. That was just the hallway. Our room: Dirty, musty, stained carpets, broken lamp that was torn and battered (probably a murder weapon, ok bad joke but seriously, something was so scary about the room and I've stayed in 100's of places even hostels in the harshest of places around the world. I was honestly scared!), stained furniture and dirty looking bedding. We left the room and claimed a refund. Front desk didn't even ask why just said "yes" We left, spent an hour trying to find another room somewhere. When we did find a room, we showered to feel clean again! When it comes to reviewing places, I always always keep it in mind that this is someone's business and livelihood BUT if the owner cared, they'd do something about it! You don't need a make-over, you don't need to spend a fortune just get the place cleaned!!! There's a "spooky" feeling to this place. I'm cringing writing that a bit but if you go- you'll know what I mean. Sorry guys! This was last night (08.03.2013)

There are better hotels
The room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller. The toilet seat was broken and the sink was so small that if you turned the tap on to much the water would spurt over the edge of the sink. The bedroom was cleanish (have seen worse) but the bed was soo lumpy it was not fit for a human to sleep on. TV, tea and coffee all good. I never had food but saw some people eating and it looked like a good hearty meal which after speaking to them i found it was cooked fresh to order and tasted great as well as being good value for money. I did have a drink at the small bar and it cost me far less than i would pay in pub let alone in another hotel. The lift is not working properly and is very dirty with graffiti on the walls but how long are you in there. I would not stay here again unless i had no place else to go but if they charged ¿¿20 a night it would be worth it.

Absolutely disgusting!!!!
I cannot begin to describe this "hotel" - it smelt as soon as you walk in - there's flys flying round the hall ways! The lift didn't work also has some sort of body fluid dried on the lift wall!! The room was an absolute dive I wouldn't recommend a rat to accommodate that room! There was no light in the bathroom or soap - the room stunk!! There were cigarette burns on the carpet - do not waste your money on this hotel how they can justify a room for ¿¿200 I do not know!! This place needs shutting down.

This is a Hovel not hotel
Stayed here on Tuesday and it was an absolute dump. Light fittings hanging off the ceiling, toilet never flushed, toilet seat broken, bath panel broke, shower dribbled, sink water pressure dribbled. when i woke up in the morning i could have been lying on the pavement the traffic noise was so loud.I new it would be a s--t hole the minute i turned into the drive, wish i had not paid in advanced.Best thing anyone could do when reading this is look at another hotel.
