Great location - Quaint hotel
We arrived by train and it was a short 15 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel is just off the main street with easy access to markets, food (Pizzeria da Michele). Tourist attractions such as the Duomo and Castle are an easy walk. The hotel is probably more 3 than 4 star. The staff were very helpful. Room size was adequate. Had fun watching the crazy locals from the balcony on their scooters. Recommended.

Well located budget hotel
We arrived here on 17 April for 4 nights. Our initial impression was not a good one. The room was very dark & in need of some redecorating, the patio doors did not lock but the room was secure due to the shutter. This hotel is more 3 star than 4.ON THE PLUS SIDE the location is ideal. It is only 10 min walk from the train station & 20 mins from the port. The staff are very helpful & the room was kept clean with fresh towels being given every day.

Good budget hotel
Spent one night here - it's a 10 minute walk from the train station, and right across the street from the pizzeria da Michele (which if you haven't heard about, just be prepared to wait but it's definitely worth it). Good value, rooms were clean and comfortable, although lights definitely were a bit dim. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good.

Noisy room, uncaring staff
After booking the suite for what I hoped tobea romantic stay, we found that above the suite was an engine that ran the water for the entire hotel. The noise was unbearable and when we complained the answer was "yes there is an engine above, sorry nothing we can do." we hardly slept and the fact that owners didn't care only frustrated us more. When booking what is supposed to be the best room we in fact got the worst.The area around the hotel is dirty and not the safest and with cab drives constantly trying to rip you off I'd suggest staying near the port rather than this area.

Please do not stay here
We stayed in the suite at the top floor, we arrived and decided to go out for a walk, then in the evening we were trying to sleep but the noise was unbelievable, we reckon it is the engine from the lift or something like that, this engine is at the top floor aswell, we went downstairs at 2 am to talk to the front desk but he would not speak English, he said something like yessss it is noisy and I can not do anything about it, it would not disturb other rooms, and honestly I don't care about other rooms, I was staying in this room and It was horrible, we could not sleep and no further discount was offered.Please do not stay here, they know about this problem and still offer this room.
