Excellent Stay
My husand booked as a special birthday treat. We had a great stay the hotel was clean and tidy the staff couldn't have done more. The room was big and at the back of the hotel there was a little noise every so often from other places putting rubbish out but in a city centre you couldn't complain to us thats expected. My husband asked the hotel to put flowers in the room for me and they were gorgeous. In the morning we went for breakfast and you certainly were not hungry when we left the food was amazing. Can't wait to stay again

Very disappointed not to the standard I expect of Abode.
The room is distinctly jaded, no hotel guide and menu missing! The trainee sorted my room key which wasn't activated so had to return to reception via the stairs (the lift was stuck on 3rd floor). The building is interesting and has lots of potential, I'm not sure how long ago it was refurbished but my room definitely needs a refresh.The room service menu when it finally arrived is limited. I am so disappointed I have stayed at the Abode Chester which is wonderful, it is hard to believe that this place belongs to the same group :(

Fantastic...
This hotel is stunning.. and very friendly. We stayed in suite which was a deal through itison.. Bed and breakfast with wine and strawberries in the room. The room we had (no 205) was fab it was very large with a very very high ceiling and the largest window I have ever seen. The decor was beautiful. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was super tasty. The hotel location was perfect right in the city centre with Q parking car park across the road (the hotel also provides you with a 25% discount off the car park when staying there)Having looked at the website they also do some great offers direct..

A pleasure to spend the night in.
We booked this hotel after getting a special rate on Secret Escapes. We stayed for one night in an Enviable room and I would happily recommend the hotel. I was a little worried, as we arrived at 2 (stated check-in time on website) and were told, without apology, that our room wouldn't be ready until 3. This wasn't an ideal first impression, but I have to say that from 3pm onwards our stay was ideal. The room was really big with high ceilings, 2 comfortable beds and a sofa. The complimentary toiletries are lovely and the shower was great. We slept well, despite the hotel's central location I didn't hear any street noise or noise from other rooms. Our room price included breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed. My partner had the scrambled egg with smoked salmon, I had the cooked breakfast. It was really fresh and tasty. Aside from our initial encounter, all staff were friendly, said hello/asked how you were enjoying your stay. The hotel is minutes away from great bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Character, quality and value in a superb city centre location
It's a rare feat for a hotel chain to pull off the cosy hospitality of a bed and breakfast, but that's exactly what Abode have managed here. From the outset of my 3 night stay staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating, my pre-booking enquiry about cycle storage revealing, without quibble or deliberation, that I would be permitted to keep the bike in my room. As a cyclist, that's a big plus right there. Although my room wasn't ready for me on my arrival (understandably as I arrived pretty early), my luggage was stored for collection later. Helpful and much appreciated, and this was typical of the staff's impressive approach to customer service throughout my stay; never anything short of polite, courteous and friendly, and deploying an apparently genuine interest in my activities whilst in Glasgow. The hotel building itself, once the family home of 20th century British Prime Minister Henry Campbell-Bannerman, is a quirky building rich in character and charm, retaining many of its original features. My room (118) was a large room overlooking Bath Street. Some of this hotel's more critical reviews cite noise as an issue, and whilst there was undoubtedly noise from car and pedestrian traffic outside, this is hardly surprising in a city centre location. Wireless internet was available, occasionally a little erratic, but free of charge. Breakfast was high quality, the full Scottish both tasty and supremely filling. If I were to try and identify any negatives about my stay, I'd have to actively search for them, and they'd likely be minor things or matters of personal choice. Nothing obvious, or immediate, comes to mind...my experience at the Abode was overwhelmingly positive, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a base to explore the city.
