A plague of little problems
I stayed for 4 nights, and there was nothing especially unbearable about this hotel, but there were so many minor issues that I can't recommend the place. There are certainly some good features: the breakfast buffet is excellent, with something for everyone. There are even a few copies of the newspaper available in the breakfast room, and fresh flowers at the tables. I never had any problems with the free, wireless internet. I could control my room temperature, and there were lots of little extra toiletries and a fridge, unusual for a 3-star hotel. The location is obviously very central. There were so many minor problems, though. The restaurant's food at dinner is really disappointing. The food was perfectly edible, so I didn't starve, but I never found anything really tasty after 3 different tries, and several items on the menu weren't available. There was no menu in my room, either, so I had to go down to the restaurant to order room service. In general, the info in the room was limited to advertisements for their conference services -- there was no basic info card or notebook with the hotel services. Thus I had to call the lobby to ask how to make phone calls, and how to access the internet. I don't know if the info card was merely missing from my room, but it was never replaced during my whole visit, if so. The main overhead light in my room was miswired -- there are 3 switches that control it, but they need to be operated in a certain sequence or else the light won't go on or off. At first I thought the light was burned out, so I had to call the lobby. They did send someone immediately, and he showed me how to work it. The water temperature fluctuated a lot while taking a shower, some days more than others. The minibar was supposed to have several different items in it, but there was only water, still and sparkling. After I drank the still water, it was never replaced during my whole visit. Moving furniture around invariably makes a honking noise against the marble floor, which is heard in other rooms and vice versa. But the worst thing was this smell of urine which seemed to pervade the entire 6th floor. The hotel otherwise seemed perfectly clean, but this smell was quite unpleasant and was noticeable in my room, too. I was also annoyed that when I asked about taxis, the receptionist offered to call me one when there's a taxi stand only a couple short blocks away -- I ended up waiting 10 minutes for their special taxi instead of just taking one from the stand.Overall, this hotel has a lot to improve on, though it does have some high points.

Very well-situated hotel in the centre of Santa Cruz
My experience of the hotel was during Carnival period in Santa Cruz, and I found it a super place to stay,in a nice part of the city, not the cheapest, but comfortable, with superb buffet breakfast....The room was clean and pleasant, with nice bathroom and toiletries etc...the only complaint was maybe the walls are very thin, so I could hear people talking in the next room, which bothered me a bit, but they were not noisy during the night!!! Most reception staff were very pleasant and friendly, I think just one of them was a bit disinterested... This is fine for a couple of nights city break, but I wouldnt recommend it for a "holiday" as such...

Very limited hotel
The hotel is located in the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is not easy to get to it by car. It is one of the hotel that has been designed for customers not to be confortable. The rooms are not old, but the guy who decorated has not any knowledge of how to build a hotel. Furniture is big and uncomfortable, making movements in the room difficult and unpleasant. Room configuration is weird. We didn't fell comfotable.Good things: location, service, internet access free, breakfast. To improve: room configuration, furniture, look&feel, parking space. We were happy to stay just a single night. We will be trying a new option next time.

Not for foodies
The Hotel is in a pedestrian zone which means a reasonable walk with your luggage.Reception is clean and the staff helpful but security is very lax. Whilst checking in a group of about 10 local youths entered and stole all the sweets and papers from the entrance table which staff on the desk did nothing about. Luckily our bags were further inside. Room was clean with air conditioning and was very quiet, though I think this was due to the fact there was no one else staying in any of the nearby rooms. As we were late checking in and not knowing the local area we decided to eat in the hotel restuarant. The menu in the room sounded ok. Once in the dining room you had a further choice so we decided on the cream soup of the day. Mistake number 1. It was meant to be cream of vegetables. Looked like pureed veg and was in a strong smelling fish stock!. Mistake number 2 was ordering a pizza. When served it was just a messy heap of peppers, artichokes, and other non descripts. It was stone cold so we sent it back. 10 minutes later they brought it back, It was by now just about aired. As we were so hungry we ate some of it.Breakfast was a little better though the capuciono coffee was a weak hot chocolate, though the staff did try to assure us we were mistaken. But the cocoa powder in the bottom of ther cup was a good give away.Good point was the central location for the shops and the harbour.

Good location, but was changed to a small room
On arrival I was given a smoking room with a strong stench. As a no-smoking traveller, I asked for another room. The receptionist said the hotel was full except for one interior room. He said this one was about the same size, so I acceplpted the change. In reality it was much smaller. Besides, the room had a comunication door with another one,so although the door was locked, I could hear all the noise coming from there. Breakfast was reasonable. Very good location, at one of the main squares of the city, very close to the main street. I traveled to other sites in Tenerife by bus, and the distance to the station was about 20 minutes on foot. If you travel this way, I recommend to buy the Bonocard - it was a great saver!
