Check your receipt if ordering food for kids
Stayed at the Auburn Lodge for 2 nights recently during the cold spell with partner and two girls aged 10 and 6. Staff friendly and welcoming. Hotel old, not very modern and in need of some updating. As I say it was during the cold spell and plug in heaters in the restaurant etc. just don't appeal to me. Nice Leisure Centre. Well we only used the pool but it was nice and nice changing facilities.Breakfast was bog standard, absolutely no frills, maybe this is something that could definately be worked on at minimal cost to the hotel. We ate in the restaurant on the first night, was just ok, staff mad to clear plates before you had even left down your knife and fork. Ate in the bar on the 2nd night and this is where I vowed not to return. The food was ok, my two girls asked for two plain bowls of pasta with no sauce just plain pasta and we were charged 10 euro for the two bowls of pasta - rip off ireland hello. Had I noticed it at the time I would have disputed it. I could have gone next door to Lidl and bought a whole packet of pasta for 80 cents. Wouldn't return, the pasta definately left me cold towards the place and wouldnt' recommend it to anyone either.

Great stay
I really enjoyed my stay here staff where very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to ennis and lots to see around the area such as the cliffs of moher, the doolin caves, Aillwee caves, Bunratty castel, and the burren all of these i enjoyed very much. I would recommed for the cliffs of moher to take the boat out around the cliffs the sights are amazing. I found the dinner in the hotel very good i really enjoyed it although the breakfast was not the best. But i would still recommed this hotel to everyone i loved my stay here and hope to come back and stay here again soon.

Worn and no elevator
Wifi is free but the signal did not reach the rooms.I saw two rooms and mine had NO outlets for plugs except by the tv or lamps. There are limited temperature controls but you can open the windows. There is no elevator so if you are older or have a heavy suitcase, you are in trouble.It's also a ways out of town so be prepared to hike or take a taxi.My room had a stain on the wall and was near the fire door which was heavy and loud.

Lovely break at the Auburn Lodge Hotel
Just back from a 2 night stay in the Auburn Lodge Hotel. Had a great time. The staff were all very friendly - we have a two year old who likes to talk and everyone had time for her! We had booked a family room as there are 4 of us and it was perfect for what we needed. The swimming pool was ideal for the children and they really had a ball. We found the food very nice.There are some areas of the hotel that could probably do with some redecoration - the paint in the room seemed to be bubbled on the wall in some areas. There is a playroom there for children but it could only be used from 1-6. It would be useful to have this open in the morning times also to amuse the children. Also, the children's channel on the TV did not work which was a pity as it is handy to distract the children with it whilst you get ready to go out and organise yourself.All in all, the hotel was clean and tidy. The points mentioned above are only minor in the grand scheme of things. We would go back and would recommend the hotel to friends and family.

Pleasant friendly atmosphere
Thanks to Rory, Noel and the rest of the staff for making it a very enjoyable weekend for a bunch of hairy bikers, nothing was ever any trouble and always a friendly, courteous smile. The food was excellent, served hot and tasty. They provided secure parking for the bikes which meant we could rest easy and enjoy the hospitality,Thanks Guys
