Great business stop near O'Hare
I stayed here recently for one night due to it's proximity to a business meeting in the business park next door. I was able to check in very early for a refresh before my meeting. They had a shuttle service from the airport for a small fee. Our group had arranged free WiFi, but I'm not sure that's standard. There's a forest nearby with a 7 mile jogging trail if you are inclined. There's an inside and outside pool that looked nice, and I hope to get to use them at my next visit. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The rooms were large and had a separate sitting room and bed room. The decor is a bit dated, but servicable.

Terrible Experience
We stayed at the Sheraton Elk Grove Village for 2 nights because all of the hotels downtown Chicago were sold out due to graduation weekend. The hotel location was not bad....about 25-30 minutes from the Loop and was near the interstate. We had a suite so the room was quite large. So, we came back to our hotel the second day around 11:30 pm and found that the cleaning staff did NOT clean our room. Dirty towels were still on the floor and beds were not made. It was a nightmare dealing with that coming home so late especially when you have young children. We called down to the front desk and told them the situation. We did not receive our clean towels until about 30 minutes later and it was midnight by then. Then at 3 AM in the morning, we were woken up by drunk kids banging on everyone's doors. It was obnoxious and it was again, NOT taken care of by the staff. The disturbance lasted about 10-15 minutes and nothing was done! The next day while checking out, we requested to speak with the manager and all the front desk said was "management will call you." No phone call from management was received. All we wanted to do was to let management know the situation and hear that their staff will be properly trained. It was such a terrible experience. Please tell your staff to respect your customers. We will 100% not be returning to the Sheraton Elk Grove Village.

Great Value - Friendly staff
In recent months, I have logged over 50 stays at this hotel and have genuinely enjoyed my stays there. For a budget priced hotel, it offers a surprising level of service - including on site restaurant, bar, preferred guest lounge, room service, etc. And while the property is not new (my guess is about 25 - 30 years old) it has been well maintained and kept upgraded. What really makes it different from your standard budget hotel, though is the staff. They are, without exception, the friendliest and most accommodating house staff I have encountered in many years of business travel.As for the facilities - here's a quick wrap up. Rooms - they are all Suites - with an interesting layout. A rather spare living room with a pull out double bed (never tried it out) and a separate sleeping room with a King size bed - and almost nothing else other than a small dresser and a small closet. Double glass paned doors with curtains separate the two main rooms. Each room has its own entrance to the bathroom - which allows it to be shared with privacy to both occupants of both rooms (nice touch). The main room has table/desk (a little high for real office work,though) and a counter unit with cabinets, microwave and fridge. Heating units are quiet - but can be odd to control. I generally did best by letting the room get warm, and then turning it OFF before I went to sleep - even when it was truly freezing outside. Spa - good general fitness room. (Better than your average hotel - but not top). Elyptical trainers, treadmills, an area and mats for stretching and floor work. Pilates balls, a good set of freeweights (Bar Bells), and a somewhat odd universal type machine that I had a hard time figuring out. Can be busy at around 6 AM - but I almost never had a wait for a treadmill or trainer. There is also a small indoor pool, whirlpool and larger outdoor pool which I didn't have a chance to use.Restaurant - Breakfast is excellent - always fresh fruit, lots of other options, good coffee, and they will make any kind of omlette or eggs for you. Lunch and Dinner menu are the same - and a little tired. However, Carlos, the chef, will make just about anything he has ingredients for - so if you use your imagination, you can do just fine. The area also has quite a few decent restaurants which you can drive to - or use their shuttle (must pay). Dinner service can be ieisurely since the wait staff is thin and has to run room service as well. If you're in a rush - just order room service - its faster.Bar - Talib - the Bartender is the best! Also a good chance to meet the crew of regular travelers who come this hotel almost every week - which is probably the best endorsement any establishment can get.

Nice site, close to highway but you can't hear the traffic
Stayed on a Saturday night with a large contingent of friends. We all had very nice rooms which were impeccably clean. The lobby was clean, the pool area tidy. Housekeeping has good attention to detail. We were in an ADA Hard of hearing/deaf suite that was decked out with the flashers and alarms. Have been encountering more and more hotels that have these and it makes us happy. The bed had lovely HUGE pillows and a comforter that was soft and cozy. In fact we fell asleep in 10 min flat. Loved that there was a sitting area and a sleeping area. In the sitting area there was the most power outlets of the whole room. Only one we found in the sleeping area. The mini fridge wasn't overstocked with product to sell and had room in it for us to put our beverages that we had brought along which was nice. The hotel IS in an office park environment and we felt safe and secure. There are many small restaurants down the road which suited our needs. It was easier than trying to wrangle people from different hotels to the restaurant onsite. Though it was nice to have as a backup.All in all, I'd stay here again without a problem. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Business Travel Hotel very close Highways
I would call this your standard business hotel. It's located in the center of a corporate office park which I would assume accounts for a bulk of its business. The rooms are slightly more roomy than some of the other Sheraton Suites I've stayed in, but once again the bedrooms are tiny and make it hard to move around or store your luggage. The mini-bar was stocked with some nice goodies which were'nt too ungodly over-priced and the location next to the highway made it ideal for getting around the various appointments around the northern suburbs of Chicago. The hotel itself is very quiet and the rooms are well appointed. They do however need to work on their maintance issues, our bathroom door was painted various shades of the same color paint and the hallways were pretty roughed up. The hot tub jets are no longer just but do produce bubbles. And the restuarant's ceiling leaks after it storms. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you're passing thru on business I would definitely suggest staying here.
