In the heart of the city - great location for shopping & eating out
We stayed here on for an overnight stay on the weekend of 5/5/13. We arrived a few hours before the 3pm check in time but were glad to hear our room was ready. We were booked into a Kingsize deluxe room as part of an Itison deal - which turned out to be fantastic value for money. The deal included, in room wine, chocolates & luxury toiliteries along with a glass of champagne in the fantastic champagne bar and breakfast. The hotel has been nicely refurbished within the last couple of years and staff were very friendly - some of the hall curtains I think may have been overlooked and left from days gone by, but on the whole the hotel is very comfortable. The chandeliers within the main atrium and champagne bar are amazing. Breakfast was very busy and for me seemed a bit chaotic, however not enough put me off staying again. For anyone who loves to shop The Grand Central really is at the heart of it all.

Definitely had the wow factor !
Stayed here last night for the first time as having dinner & drinks in Glasgow, Location is fantastic, central is exactly what it is! Room was gorgeous & had a huge comfortable bed. We only had 1 bath towel in the bathroom however when we phoned down to reception they brought another one to our room within 5 minutes! Didn't eat at the hotel at all as felt breakfast was a bit pricey, a continental costing the same as cooked. Also no air conditioning in the room & window wouldn't open so was a bit stuffy but otherwise the room was fabulous.

Good for an overnight stay in Glasgow
My husband and I stayed here for one night in April. Hotel was lovely and clean. Room was light and spacious. Nice bathroom, space for hanging up your clothes. A little traffic / people noise in the early hours but this was due to us having the window open - hotel room was very hot throughout the night. Apart from that no complaints. . Lovely cocktails at the bar for our night cap!

fine renovation of the classic old railroad hotel
My wife and I arrived early, having taken the overnight sleeper from London. And 8 AM our room was not ready, nor did we expected to be. However we were warmly welcomed and settled into the business class lounge which is on the first floor and a very satisfactory accommodation for waiting. We were impressed by how carefully the staff kept track of us and made sure we got to our rooms as soon as they were ready. We had one of the larger deluxe rooms that has been completely redecorated and it was both very spacious and gorgeous. Worth the extra cost, in our view.
