some things excellent, but mostly over priced for what you get
The location for this hotel was great -- walking distance to everywhere we wanted. There were several issues with the room and parking. Paid way too much for what we got. Several things in the room did not operate properly -- nothing that interfered with the purpose of our stay, but annoyances none-the-less.

great weekend getaway!
I have never been disappointed with any of the Hilton hotels we have stayed at. I was greeted at the door with a pleasant good afternoon and just set the tone for a wonderful weekend. Love valet service, never had to worry about getting my car or if it was safe. Thanks!

Excellent
Outstanding in every way! I could not have been happier. The restaurant was just amazing. Best food I have ever had. The Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was very clean and worth any extra money it may have cost compared to other hotels.

Staff make the difference
I stayed here for a single night as part of a touring holiday. Arriving on Sunday evening we found that the hotel restaurant was closed.As a result I resorted to room service for both dinner and breakfast next day. The food was really good, huge in quantity and delivered on time by really excellent staff.In the room, the air conditioning unit was a little noisy, not all of the channels on the TV worked, but everything else was fine. Would happily stay here again.

Good location
We took the Amtrak from Chicago. The Amtrak Station is a few blocks from the hotel. The hotel is the tallest building in Springfield and we did get a good view of the city from our room. The bathtub/shower faucet was very tight and we had to call housekeeping/engineering to turn it on (thank goodness it did not need to be replaced or else we would have to move to another room). Regardless of how careful we were with the shower curtain.....water from the showerhead splashed onto the floor. We did not know that we had complimentary breakfast (buffet) until we were walking past the lobby in the morning. There was a good variety of fresh fruits and cooked foods. On the whole, our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable.
