Beyond Fantastic!
Cannot say what a wonderful weekend we just spent here-- from the warm, welcoming staff and amazing restaurant to the gorgeous view and proximity to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. We had a gorgeous, large room overlooking the water. The restaurant was as wonderful as promised. Also got spa services on day which were fantastic. Hotel gave great recommendations on where to eat in Sorrento! Perfect for a relazing weekend for two.

40th Birthday in Sorrento
This was possibly one of the most romantic hotels to be taken to. I'd recommend it to anyone who may want to spoil their partner!The hotel and rooms are beautiful. We had an amazing balcony and view of Mt Vesuvius.The hotel staff are lovely and helpful. You must eat one night in the hotel, its one of the best meals I have ever had and being from Manchester we have some great choices! The chef made me a birthday cake and everyone sang me happy birthday, even the front desk bobbed their heads in to sing along! The wine waitress was lovely and made brilliant choices, mmm to the wine!There is a free hotel minibus transfer to take you into Vicoequense as the hotel is in a tiny village, with little to do. Pizza a metre is well worth a visit! The trips organised by the hotel are very expensive, so I wouldn't bother! Its so easy just to jump on the train yourself for a few Euros (quick walk down the road or get the hotel minibus) to Pompei (or Naples etc) and when you arrive you can get into a group for a guided tour for a fraction of the price, our tour was fab. Another must do trip is the Amalfi coast, either do the hotels private trip or simply get a train to Sorrento and then get a public bus right outside the station for a few Euro up the coast, it's great. About 1.5 hours. We experienced a full storm and it was a fabulous trip still! We had lunch in Amalfi, think the place was called Gemma's or similar but again a must visit restaurant, really good!We had a lovely 4 days in the hotel and area. Main negative was there was no shower even over the bath that we could stand under.

Grand hotel, stunning quiet setting!
Highly recommend this luxury hotel, friendly, professional staff, great location. Had a beautiful corner room stunning furniture with great views of the ocean and Mt. Vesuvius. Got brilliant recommendation and directions for dinner. Truly a five star hotel with very friendly attitude.

Good Hotel
It's a good hotel, with good accomodations. The price is quite good, acording to the region. The hotel is not so good located, but that doesn't become an issue, since in costa amalfitana a car is mandatory.

Great hotel ,fantastic staff
We booked the Grand Hotel Angiolieri for our 5 day holiday in November on a B+B basis . We were aware it is the off season and that some of the hotel facilties were closed but that wasn't an issue for us. We had a double room ,number 201 and it had a small terrace with a partial sea view . No problems at all with the room ,clean ,fresh and all modern facilities . The finish was luxury through n through . Full SkyTV access in our room with Air con . The hotel is very well presented and you can see no expense has been spared . Marble ,chrome and glass everywhere . The view from the breakfast terrace was outstanding and we ate there very morning . Breakfast was continental and some hot food was available. The staff were fantastic and very helpful indeed . Their command of English was great and a credit to them .They were polite and nothing was too much trouble . We took full advantage of the free shuttle bus to the nearby train station and also it took us to the nearby town of Vico Equense . We would definitely go back to see the hotel & Sorrento in all it's summer glory .Unfortunately the Michelin star restaurant was closed (which we knew ) but we'd love to try it looking out on that amazing view over the bay of Naples & Vesuvious . We knew the hotel was a small distance from Sorrento when we booked but the trains from Seiano station are very frequent . Train tickets from the hotel reception. The town of Vico Equense is 5 minutes by shuttle bus & has some nice restaurants & bars and the shuttle bus will take you & pick you up. The train fare is 1.2 euro each to Sorrento but 40euro in a taxi one way . Trains run up to midnight . The Seiano train station is a 10minute walk along a busy narrow road so use the shuttle if you can . Pompeii is 30 minutes by train from Seiano . Definitely visit Amalfi , 14euros each by bus from outside Sorrento train station . Also Isle of Capri , 27euros return from Sorrento marina .
