Fantastic location and hotel for a family holiday
Just back from a week in Alcudia after finding this hotel on a last minute booking via Trip Advisor. We went with our 2 1/2 year old and as this was her first trip abroad we were concerned/interested about how the hotel (and we!) would fair. We cannot recommend this hotel or location highly enough! The hotel was fantastic, the staff excellent and the facilities brilliant - this is classed as a 'standard' Iberostar hotel so I'd be very interested in what they have improved on the pricier options as this was great! The hotel was kept spotless with efficient yet unobtrusive cleaning staff working throughout the day. Our apartment was cleaned daily and the maids kept leaving origami for our daughter - one day she walked in to see a swan on the bed made from a towel! A lovely touch and she was over the moon. We stayed in block 6 and had no issues with noise on a night. We also had a fantastic beach view which was a great bonus. Whilst the apartment is slightly dated it's clean and has all the facilities you need. We took one of the sofa bed mattresses from the living area into our bedroom for our daughter and as they had blackout blinds on the windows we all had a great nights sleep. There was also no issues over a toddler and a high balcony as the windows were too high for her to reach and the balcony was very secure. The food was great with a very comprehensive buffet catering to all tastes and nationalities. My wife usually has gluten free meals and didn't struggle to get a good meal at breakfast or dinner (we were half board). Likewise there is plenty to keep the little ones happy. The beach is spotless and literally 2mins from the hotel across a pedestrian walkway. There is a KFC, Spar, Pizza Hut and more across from the hotel so everything is within walking distance if you want to venture out. The pool and sun loungers on site are great and the pool is shallow enough for kids and non-swimming adults (me!).Last word must go to the staff. Very helpful and efficient. The kids entertainment team need a special mention. Anti, Raquel and the rest of the team are very engaging with the kids and everyone is included regardless of age. They really work very hard to make the whole day enjoyable for the kids and it doesn't come across as something that's forced rather something they've thrown themselves into totally. Our daughter loved the mini club and the mini disco on the night. Smiley the Dog was a big hit, as were Lolly and Pop. The fact that they manage to fit in pony rides, balloon animals, painting etc throughout the day is great as our little girl did far more on this trip than we could have hoped for.Very relaxed atmosphere with lovely staff, good and location. Totally recommended for anyone travelling with kids.

Iberostar - thank you for saving our holiday! Fantastic hotel!
We booked the Iberostar in Alcudia after checking into the hotel we originally booked and finding it to be an absolute hell hole. We literally walked with all our suitcases and 4 year old down to the Iberostar and booked the hotel for the rest of our stay. Immediately we felt welcome in a calm and relaxing lobby with friendly, sympathetic and welcoming staff. We booked half board and they even treated us to a room with a sea view which we were extremely greatful for!We put our bags in our room which was spacious, clean and comfortable (especially compared to the original hotel we were in!) and went down to dinner. Again compared to the original hotel this place was in another league! Great selection, all fresh as tasty and lots of options. Nice healthy options for kids an fantastic service from th waiters who were really friendly to our 4 year old. Pool area was clean and very pretty, huge bonus for being right on the beach. The pool was cool but this was lovely as it was nice and hot, a lifeguard was on duty the whole te which was reassuring. The entertainment was fab and varied - our son adored their version of the Lion King and still raves about it now! All the kids club staff were friendly and happy and really well organised - our son felt very special after winning a game and receiving a medal at the evening entertainment. It was just a wonderful place, we will definitely come again and highly recommend it. Thank you to everyone at the Iberostar for saving our holiday! xxx

Excellent family holiday
Just back from a week at Ciudad Blanca (4th May to the 11th) and we're already looking forward to going back again. There are two things that make this hotel special; 1) The Staff, reception staff, entertainment staff, restaurant Staff, cleaning staff, kids club staff all are extremely friendly and welcoming. Many went out of their way to ask our kids names on day 1 and remembered them right through the week, which was a nice touch. Special mention must go to the kids club staff/entertainers who work tirelessly to make sure the kids are entertained and made feel special. 2) The Location, the hotel is right on the beach so you have the choice of either spending the day lounging by the pool or at the beach - two great options when you have little ones to entertain. The beach is sandy without any stones and the water stays shallow for about 50 meters, so perfect for kids to play. The rooms (although a little dated decor wise) were exceptionally clean and the lobby, gardens, pool area are all maintained to a very high standard. We had a room on the first floor and although we could hear a little noise it was not enough to disturb our or our kids sleep. The restaurant is a buffet style self service but with a huge array of choice and if you go all inclusive the temptation to go back for more is hard to resist. Overall the food was to a very high standard (especially the deserts). The evening entertainment was overall better than I expected and the shows put on by the hotels's entertainment staff (80's night, The lion King etc.) were usually far better than when they had guest acts (acrobats & magicians etc.). The kids and most of the adults seemed to be thoroughly entertained. The only negative was the fact that we couldn't have lunch in the restaurant after checking out before our bus came to bring us to the airport. The day we arrived we only made it in time for dinner so given that we'd paid for 7 days all inclusive we thought it would have been fair to allow us lunch on the day we were leaving (our flight out was later in the evening). Overall though this is a super hotel for a family holiday. Our kids ( 3 and 5 ) loved every minute and Mam and Dad got to have some much needed sun and relaxation.

Brilliant holiday destination
We stayed here for a week from 2nd May 2013. The weather was great, the accommodation comfortable and very clean and the staff very attentive and friendly especially towards our 3 year old. We would definitely go back to this hotel as we really enjoyed a relaxing holiday. The food was great. The beach is right on the door step. This was also very clean and enjoyable to relax on while paddling and building sand castles. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families.

Amazing hotel, right on the beach
Just back from a week's stay at the Iberostar today and i am already desperate to go back!!The hotel is just amazing. We stayed in an apartment all inclusive and the whole week was great. The hotel is incredibly clean and well maintained and very organised. The staff are so nice and friendly, and it seems very genuine. The food was great, plenty of choice (and im quite fussy) and the resturant was lovely, with places to sit outside when the weather is nice. We had a few days rain when we arrived (although it got MUCH better as the week went on) and the hotel tried their best to make the most of it, putting on snacks and coffees inside and board games. The hotel is literally on the beach, with a lovely beachside walk round to the port where there is more shops and cafes but right outside the hotel there is still plenty shops, bars, resturants. I'd say this is a great hotel for children, the staff are so lovely with children and there is plenty for them to do. We went 3 adults however and didnt feel we were being overrun with a childrens orientated hotel because we were always made to feel important and there is a pool for adults which i think in busy season would be quieter than the childrens pool. We paid for a sea/beach view room for an extra 50 euros which we are glad we did as the view over looking the pool and the sea was beautiful every morning. You can hire towels for a deposit of 10 euros which i would suggest doing to save you taking them and there is a spa in the hotel which looked fab. All in all, apart from the view days poor weather, this was one of my favourite places ive been to. I couldnt recommend it highly enough!
