Lovely hotel
My mum and I stayed at this hotel during May half term for 3 nights and we had a great time. We found the hotel itself and the resort very quiet but this suited us just fine as we only wanted a relaxing few days in the sun. On check in we were given a room on the 5th floor in blockA. A very nice room but the view was not the best. We asked reception if we could move to a room with a better view and they happily changed us to a room on the 4th floor this time overlooking the pool and with a lovely Sea view. I think from the way the hotel is situated most, if not all rooms will have some sort of sea view but in my opinion I would ask for a pool facing room to get the best views possible. Our room was lovely and clean and we were really pleased with it. Nice comfy bed, mini bar and clean bathroom. The pool and sunbathing area is quite small for the size of the hotel but this never seemed to be a problem, as we were always able to find a sunbed. They don¿¿¿t allow people to reserve sunbeds with towels on a morning. There is also a towel service but we chose to use our own. There is no pool snack bar which I though was a shame but there are plenty of places you can eat and buy drinks from just across the road. The hotel entertainment on a night is very limited. Over the three nights we were there we went into the main bar every night and it was always quiet. There was a singer on every night but it was a very reserved quiet bar. The bar staff were lovely, spoke very good English and made very nice cocktails but not the place to go if you¿¿¿re looking for shows and dancing etc...The hotel is in a good location just across the road from the beach and bars/restaurants. We walked right out of the hotel and carried along to Balamadina Marina which took us about 30mins (stopping to look in shops etc...) which is a lovely place to visit. We never actually found the main shopping area in Torrelmolinos itself. We asked for directions at reception to the main bars/shops area but the lady who was on at the time obviously didn¿¿¿t understand what i was asking her as she directed us to no where really. I have seen from other reviews that there is a lift up to the main area close to the hotel. Had we have known this at the time or if we had been visiting for longer we would have tried to find it again and taken a look. We visited the hotel spa on our last day and enjoyed the Sea Salt Spa experience and a massage. I would recommend to anyone. It was very relaxing and reasonably priced. We stayed half board and found the food to be ok. There was always a lot of choice with the cold foods but we found that the choice on hot foods was a little limited. We always found plenty to eat however but i think if we had of been staying for longer i may have got board with the lack of options. I liked how they had individual tubs of ice cream rather than one big tub that everyone digs into for desert. We found the dress code for men very strict at meal times. We weren¿¿¿t travelling with any men so it wasn¿¿¿t a problem to us but i thought it was a bit extreme that men were not aloud to wear flip flops to breakfast but women were? It also made for some strange combinations of shorts and smart shoes which in my opinion looked worse. I think that maybe this is something reception should point out at check in as we did see quite a lot of awkward exchanges between the waiters and guests as they were trying to explain the rules. Maybe if reception had done this at check in then there wouldn¿¿¿t be any awkward exchanges during meal times. I would say that overall this hotel is not one for families with young children. It is definitely more of a short breaks hotel for couples. We noticed a lot of bus trips coming in and out of the hotel and a few businessmen and even pilots one day at breakfast so there was a real mix of people. Not your typical beach holiday hotel. However we had an excellent stay and I would recommend this hotel and would return to stay again (jus

Great Hotel, great value
We picked this hotel based on reviews found on tripadvisor and once again, we were not disappointed. The hotel was right on the water and walking distance to some good restaurants, bars and shopping. All the day tour buses pick up from this hotel too.

Super stay and excellent value
2 years away but just as great. Easy check in. Asked where we would like to be. Perfect service and excellent room. What more can I say as a regular traveller it does not have the glitz and glamour but would return without hesitation. Good customer service as expected by Melia. No one could ask for more here in terms of location, walking and eating opportunities. The costa may not seem the most up to date but rocks in terms of convenience. Try the sardines served on the beach front. The best!!!

This Hotel can activate addictive behaviour
We have been here many times over the last 15 years and this is an excellent hotel, the only problem about staying here is having to leave and wait for the next visit, ambience, food, safety, room service, location, staff, all just excellent, only query we have is why food is not served at tables by poolside area, as you have to dress appropriately to enter hotel for food, which is not what you want to be doing when taking in the sun.

Great hotel and room view of the beach in Torremolinos
Loved our hotel rooms, lots of space, balcony view of the beach, restaurants, shopping, and a variety of bars within walking distance. Was there as part of Globus tours and enjoyed two relaxing days by the pool and the beach. Rock of Gibraltar is only 2 hrs away.
