All I can say is for the koney I paid I got exactly what I wanted. Crap food. Cheap drink but it was free. The htop beach bar was pretty good with the half price rates for htop guests. Plenty of music. The only troublesome person I met whilst I was there was some british 40 year old woman bragging how she had left her children home alone whilst she was there getting wasted. Definitely return again to calella. And would possibly go back to this hotel. Its cheap. Easy to find and overall a good standard for the price you pay. As for 9 holidays on icelolly.com they are utter garbage. I will avoid them like the plague in future. Advertising the holiday at one price and the try charge you an extra 70 pounds each when you book and we didnt add anything on. No transfers and hand luggage only. Scammers

Good hotel for the price
It's really not as bad as people are saying. I just got back from there yesterday from a long weekend, and was a bit worried whyen I read the reviews but I was pleasently surprised when I arrived. They have wifi available for a small fee and 6 computers for 50 cents for 10 minutes. theres an arcade and a bar, 3 swimming pools with a bar by the pool as well. The rooms were tidy and got cleaned with fresh towels and sheets everyday. There was no noice at all, and I'd advise anyone to go to Menfis club, it looks dead outside but when you walk in it is crazy I had the best clubbing experiences there. The only downfall for the hotel was the foot, absolutely vile, I am not a fussy eater, and will normally eat anything, but I couldnt stomach much so we ate out. We were all inclusive so we had endless amounts of drinks throughout the day and before we went out. They have nightime entertainment with a disco and stage, we didnt join in until our 10th drink or so then danced our way out of the hotel and hit the bars. The hotel was really quiet at night but that may have been because we came home early hours of the morning each night. If anyones looking to book a holiday with 9 holidays off of icelolly i'd suggest you dont. Awful customer service they kept hanging up on my after leaving me on hold for 15 minutes at a time, we booked lloret de mar and were told thats where we were going, until we received the confirmation email with the resort which was in calella 45 minutes away from where were staying, in a way I'm glad though because I had such a good time. The travel agents told us twice there were coaches for 8 euros to lloret de mar however, when we got there it was obviously Calella and there were no coaches running so we had to spend 70 euros each way to and from the airport which cut us back. Apart from that I had a great time and would reccoment anyone to go!

If it seems Cheap then it is Cheap
Having agreed our Friend should book our Long weekend away for us and our wives that was reasonably priced and not too far to fly to, he found us the HTOP Olympic. Bournemouth to Girona is only 1 Hr & 45 Minutes and he got us great flight times which made the 1 hour transfer to Calella bearable. On arrival we were checked in quickly at an empty reception desk who were helpfull and efficient but did not explain the use of the green and white card given along with our door key card. We headed up to the 5 th Floor Rooms which were Clean if somewhat dated and unpacked before heading for the Bar opposite Reception it was here we found out why we had a Green & White Card because we could not get a drink until we handed over the card to get a small glass and we would get the card back when the glass was taken back to the bar. We asked for a Pint Glass but you only get these if paying for your drinks. If you are All inclusive you also need to hand over your room key which when swiped shows your photo on their screen now you get your drink which will be watered down regardless if it is the Beer on Tap or the cheap Spirits, if you want Named Brand spirits or Cocktails you pay extra although their is a Daily cocktail that my wife tells me tasted the same every day but the colouring used was different. The Spanish, French & German students although behaving as teenagers would when free of their parents and unsupervised by invisible Teachers were not as bad as other reviews said, it was mostly poor parenting by Brits allowing their kids to run riot along the corridoors screaming late at night but the best was the bathroom noise from the Sewer Pipewhich were positioned between our room and our friend with a grilled door that opened onto it, the pipes are positioned oposit the Lift?stairwells (so do not get these rooms) as every time someone takes a shower of flushes the toilet it runs down these large pipes and is very noisy, chances are you will be awake anyway as the matresses are hard and unless you were comatose from copious amounts of alcohol you wont get a full night uninterupted sleep (if you are able to get merry from the watered down booze that is a result). The Breakfast was mostly cold, poorly presented with Lunch and Dinner being the same food and repetative as it was laid out every meal although we ate because we were hungry and had prepaid for it but this became too much for the Second evening there when we decided to go out into Calella to eat in a Bar those BBQ Ribs were glourious, the beer and Spirits for the girls actualy made us feel like we had drunk alcohol. The Evening entertainment was mediocre at best we enjoyed the Flamenco Dancing on the first night but had to check for a pulse during night two's Bingo and if you dont mind irresponsible parents out of control kids running about the isles and dance floor then you may be able to stoumach the Disco. There is a Pool Bar and the area around the pool is bearable but tired and the pool had a Tide mark where it had not been cleaned for some considerable time so we did not go in the water but if asked to select the best thing about the Hotel it would be the Cleaning Staff who did a great job, making the beds daily and cleaning the rooms and bathrooms to a good standard placing clean towels daily. It was summed up by a guy my age from one of the stag groups when he said "This is not the sort of place I would bring my wife" I knew only too well what he meant and a feeling of letting my wife down by bringing her to the HTOP OLYMPIC came over me. Bottom line is we will not be letting our friend Brian choose the next Long Weekend Hotel and definately not returning to this hotel or Calella again. My advice would be do not waste your time or your money pay the extra for a Four Star where it feels like a holiday not a Holiday Camp.

Ignore bad reviews!
I dont know where to start.. Just got back from a weeks stay and was a little worried after reading reviews. The staff were always nice to us, but having said that we were polite to them. And after some of the disgraceful manners I witnessed from some people.. im not suprised the staff were not always cheerful! They work hard and deserve a please and thankyou! The rooms are a little dated, but are clean! The food was good and plenty of choice.. Salads and fish and always a meat option. i had grilled chicken, pork steak, paella etc. Even my 2 year old never went hungry! Some people are way too picky. There was entertainment in.the day for children, arts and crafts etc. And the eveninv entertainment was enjoyable. Ee watched a magician, a brazil show, flamenco show, played bingo and there was a live band on friday evening. Calella town is lovely, plenty of bars and shops etc. A return trip to barca on train is 8,50 each. Please ignore the reviews, a holiday is what you make it and we enjoyed ours, even though it rained for the first three days! Calella Palace has an indoor pool, its small, but perfect for tr kids. The card system is a brill idea, one less job for staff to have to do and its just plain lazy to moan about it! All you have to do is take your glass back to bar for another drink. We enjoyed our stay and would not rule out a return visit!:-)

STAY AWAY
We arrived at the htop olympic yesterday (1-5-13) and we are moving tomorrow to a 4* and we can't wait. The staff are miserable and the food is awful. The beds are like sleeping on bricks and the drinks are watered down. The hotel faces what I can only call a mud field. The room is so small and the furniture is very old. The food is the same and the corridors noisy. Never ever will we come here again. The hotel we are moving to is just a 2 min walk and the difference is amazing. If you are going to book a htop then choose a 4*
