Would stay here again
When you go to Paris you expect the be underwhelmed by the size of the room and the service. Not with this hotel. We selected the Superior Room and it was worth the little extra. Our room (743) had a view over the rooflines of Paris towards the Eiffel Tower, the luxury of a separate toilet and a well renovated room overall. Internet is a little annoying for those with mobile devices, but I understand why it is this way and once connected it was acceptable, especially as it was free. What was not so great was the lack of an included breakfast. At over 170 euro per night it wouldn't hurt to throw in breakfast. However we found a lot of variety in the local restaurants for significantly less than the 18 euro being charged here.Location is fantastic, just a short walk to the number 2 metro line and 300 meters from the Moulin Rouge. While never quiet in Paris this hotel was as quiet as you could hope for and well soundproofed. Even though our last two nights were in a fully booked hotel there was no sound from the neighbouring rooms.Highly recommended and would stay there again when we return to Paris.

Tired and overpriced
We recently spent 4 days at this hotel - great location, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast (though replacement food too slow) BUT the hotel is NOT 4-Star and is certainly overpriced. Why, because the carpet was threadbare in places, the corridor stank and smelt dusty, the enamel on the bath was chipped etc.

Value for money
After a four-day stay I can definitely recommend this hotel. The location is very nice, close to all the attractions of Montmartre (all within 15 minutes walking, many actually within 5), and also very close to a Metro station at Place de Clichy (2 minutes from the nearest entrance) ¿¿¿ from there it¿¿¿s just a 10-minute trip to Arc de Triomphe, and maybe 15 to ¿¿le de la Cit¿¿. Also connection with the airports is quite convenient (RER B to Gare du Nord, and then M2 from La Chapelle, you can easily do it within 1 hour from CDG).The rooms (now all labelled as ¿¿¿Superior¿¿¿ or better) are quite large, by Paris standards I would even say ¿¿¿huge¿¿¿ (same for bathrooms), and well equipped. My room was overlooking the street and only at the 4th floor, but it was quite well soundproofed and the noise was never an issue. You can hope to get a room with a nice view over Montmartre or the key sights of the city, although you will only enjoy this at higher floors, I¿¿¿d say at least 6th. Bed was large and ¿¿¿ IMHO ¿¿¿ very comfortable, although this is always a matter of personal preference.I haven¿¿¿t checked the breakfast, as I found it more entertaining to use local cafes, and there are plenty of those close enough. But if you care for a hotel breakfast, there is a selection of standard buffet breakfast (18 ¿¿¿), express breakfast at the bar (8 ¿¿¿) and in-room service. I haven¿¿¿t encountered any real problems as such, although there is some room for improvement in the minibar area. Well, actually there isn¿¿¿t any minibar to speak of, just a small bottle of water in a fridge, so if you do not wish to use roomservice just for a drink, you need to take care of supplies yourself (but a positive thing is that the fridge is large enough to accommodate a bottle of sparkling wine easily). Also the plastic cups could really be replaced by glassware, it¿¿¿s a four-star hotel after all. Finally there were some stains at the carpet, both in the room (420) and outside. Not that it wasn¿¿¿t clean, those were of a more ¿¿¿permanent¿¿¿ nature, but some stronger effort at cleaning those would be welcome.Still, as said above, I find the hotel very good and will definitely go back when visiting Paris again, it¿¿¿s good value for money by Paris standards. I must also say that I really appreciate General Manager of the hotel reading these reviews here, which is definitely beyond standards of the business ¿¿¿ and this was one of the reasons for me selecting this hotel in the first place. It¿¿¿s nice to see that you care!

Location Perfect
Our main aim this trip to Paris was to see Moulin Rouge and do the mont martre/sacre couer area of this vibrant city. Mercure was the perfect place to do this from. A very short walk to the Moulin Rouge and also to the metro stop, needing only one line change and not too long to get to central Paris.Staff were very helpful and their English was excellent. Not super luxury but nicely decorated. Rooms are comfortable and of a good size and bathroom well appointed. There is a nice bar attached to the lobby. We didn't eat there purely because we wanted to taste the local cafes. It is a non smoking hotel but I did see cigarette ash by the window when we first got into the room (welcome to Paris I guess) but the next time the room was cleaned it was gone.We could see the eiffel tower from the room so that was a bonus but more importantly it was very quiet and we got a good nights sleep both nights.I would have no problem recommending a stay here

Mecure Montmarte
We stayed here as part of a tour and it was surprisingly not what we expected. the room was very clean and tidy and the hotel was quiet. Lots to see in the area including the Moulin Rouge. The staff were very helpful. Great night sleep.
