Couldn't swing a kitten
What can I say about my room other than SMALL. I am tall but that should explain why without moving my feet I can touch the wall near my bed and the other side of the room.The bed was a single in length but was conveniently thin on width.The show was so small I had to do something from cirque du soleil to get the shower gel.It was opposite the train/tube line which was noisy and here they managed to something large i.e. the window that took up the width of the room and being south facing generated more heat than the sun so to counter than they put in a normal sized Air-con unit but the room was so small it was quite easy to turn it into a fridge making the balance between frying and freezing a challenge.The list was so slow I timed it by not getting in at the same time as someone else and leisurely walked down the stairs, 3 floors, and I was there before them¿¿¿OK, I was attending a conference but I booked it 3 months in advance.Not the best experience at London hotel prices.

Friendly, Professional Service
My husband and I arrived at the hotel on April 29, 2013 and were met with by Gagan, friendly and professional gentleman at the front desk. When we were leaving the hotel for the day he gave us a London map, explained to us were various point of London, we had indicated an interest in seeing, were located and how to get there on the tube. He showed us to our room and indicated if there was anything we needed to let him know and he would take care of it. He greeted us when we left and returned to the hotel each time. Our room faced Hogarth Road and it was quiet both evenings.The room was small compared to most hotels in the USA, but similar to many we've stayed in over the years that were more expensive and less conveniently located in the UK. Was moved onto a another Hotel and ended up paying twice
Arrived at the hotel on the 23rd of April only to be told due to 'unscheduled maintenance' some rooms were not available and I would have to be moved. Was not told to what Hotel, only that it was 'near paddington station' by the Receptionist who avoided all eye contact with me.Was also asked for payment. The stay had been booked through an agency at work and had already been paid. When I asked the receptionist to check, was told that no payment was on file. I decided that our agency must have made a mistake and paid on my credit card asking for a full invoice. Was told it would be emailed to me (I am still waiting on this 3 days on). Returned to the office a few days later to find that it had already been paid for. The agency are currently in the process of getting a refund.When I was transferred, the Hotel I was transferred to had no-idea who I was. Although have to say the Hotel I was transferred to was quite pleasant, I just had no idea where it was! Have to say overall it was an awful experience, and our Agency will not be booking through them again.

I will not recommend this hotel.
10 GBP have been taken by the hotel and we have never been refunded, even after emails and two long phonecalls explaining the situation. This is besides the 20 GBP reservation insurance.I booked a deluxe double room but it was very small. Very noisy due to railway. Poor quality staff. Very slow internet connection. I can say it was not working at all.

No room available after booking nearly 2 weeks beforehand
On arrival I was asked if I had received any emails or calls from them. A bit strange - I had received only a confirmation email with a booking reference. Apparently they had tried to contact me to advise that due to some maintenance works my room would not be available. I wasn't shocked - this had been mentioned in a previous review on Tripadvisor. I waited for a taxi to arrive to take me to one of their sister hotels. Three other sets of guests tried to book in while I waited - their rooms were also unavailable. They had also not received a call advising them of this.The receptionist did a good job under the circumstances, it can't be easy apologising to so many people about something beyond her control.Incidentally the replacement hotel is allegedly four star. The replacement room however is tiny and in the basement. It seems unnecessary to say I will not (attempt to) stay at Kensington Townhouse London again.
