Wonderful Stay
We had a lovely time in Cardiff. The hotel was wonderful. Very friendly staff, very clean hotel. We had a room overlooking the castle and garden. It was beautiful! Lots to see around the hotel, also a taxi to Cardiff Bay was about 7 pounds. There are more dining choices there. Overall, I highly recommend staying at the Hilton.

another excellent breakfast
i visited here on 17/5/13 for a champayne breakfast with a travel zoo voucher. this is the second time i have visited here for breakfast with the same offer. couple of bad points this time round: the cups were stained from the tea and coffee which did put me off slightly and there were no spoons to stir your hot drink with and the coffee jug was a bit dirty and not like the first i needed the loo, what a trek that was!!.apart from that it was very nice, staff were friendly and helpful and service was good .i would recommend the breakfast especially with a travel zoo voucher .

Excellent service, well looked after from parking up your car to comfort in your bedroom,and the best breakfast every, the Hilton knows how to look after you, it's in a brilliant spot for pubs,clubs and shopping.

Did not live up to my expectations
I have to report how disappointed I was with this Hilton during my recent stay. Though only for one night, the standard wasn't what I was expecting. The reception area is pleasant and staff very polite, but that for me that is where the positives end. The room that I was allocated was very drab and tired. The spacious bathroom had an abundance of mould in the shower which did not encourage me to use it. The room was facing the street with bars and I naively hoped that the windows would be adequately soundproofed. Unfortunately this was not the case and I was kept awake by brawling, rowdy individuals in the early hours of the morning, Had I realised that this would be a problem, I would have requested a room change earlier that evening.The location of this Hotel is perfect for my business trips, but unfortunately until they do some refurbishment I will not be returning here.

A bland Hilton in excellent location
Maybe the central location between the castle walls and main shopping street have made the Hilton lazy. Nice refurb end lobby but really bland and dated rooms. Mine had a fold down bed down the side of my king and my colleague had to move rooms as hers stank of cigarette smoke. Breakfast wasn't the usual extensive Hilton offering but the conservatory was nice to eat in. I usually stay at Park Plaza 100 yds away but it was full. Much much more contemporary and cool. This fell far short of Hiltons increasingly distinctive brand.
