Excellent, well run Hotel
It's an independant 4 star hotel with one rosette for it's food. My room was a twin "sea View" you could see the sea but only just, the bed was comfy and well made up, the maid service was excellent with the room cleaned thourghly daily, being at the front of the hotel I was concened that the flood lightinh that lit the hotel at night would be a trouble, however the thick heavy curtains were excellent and kept all the light out. The Wi-fi in public areas was good but in the room it was very patchy. Public areas are clean and well maintained, a slight issue was the lunchtime waiting service for snacks and the bar could be a bit chaotic if busy, a nice snack menu but not cheap, however the food is excellent.The restaurant is very well run with superb service, Charles ,who runs the dining room, is exceptionally good, he seems to know what is needed just before you know yourself. The food is spendid a nice varied menu and changes occuring daily, the fish is cooked excellently and I heard not one complaint about the food from our group. Breakfast is a buffet and very nice too, all you could want, if i had one observation it would be that the sausages or bacon are too salty as i was gasping for water each mid morning..however if thats the height of my criticism its fairly thin!!

Too hot!
Great seafront location plenty of parking free wifi.The staff were friendly bar service was good we were there for a function and everything ran smoothly.My one moan is the bedroom ok for size tea and coffee making tray toiletries hairdryer etc... but so hot and stuffy they do provide electric fans which helps with the heat but then you have to put up with the noise of the fan.Breakfast was ok we were a large party but the restocking of the buffet was rather slow and quite a few people stood around waiting for eggs.The fire alarm going of at 7-7.30 sunday morning was not the best start to the day proved to be a false alarm but no staff appeared on our floor to tell us this.

lovely Hotel
Stayed here for one night 27-4-2013. Lovely staff quick check in room very nice and clean. Lovely position right opposite the pier. Free parking and wi-fi.We had lunch and dinner there and both were very good the downside was the dinner service was very slow. The head waiter had to keep on at the very young staff to do things and it was no better at breakfast the next morning . Saying that we would go back there again.

Consistently very good.
We stayed here recently for just one night, our third stay at the Hermitage. Check in staff were very professional and efficient. We had a lovely corner room overlooking the sea. Dinner in the restaurant was good, but I thought the portion sizes a little disappointing. Breakfast was fine, it is a buffet, but the quality was fine. If I had one small criticism it was the quality of the wi-fi, it was extremely slow. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and keen to help. The location of the hotel is excellent, right opposite the pier. We will return, hopefully soon.
