Good stay
Have recently returend from a 3 day business trip and i can say from checking in to leaving every thing was fine good freindly staff and service. I had a loverly double room to my self every thing worked good nights sleep and plenty of hot water breakfast was buffet plenty of it i only had one evening meal in the hotel which was a nice steak. good leisure facilities overall i had a good stay and would stay here again

Good value. A little chilly.
Stayed here for a weekend with extended family group whilst attending a family wedding nearby. The hotel is in a bit of a uninspiring location and seemed to be popular mainly with coach trips that were passing through the area - but it was fine for our purposes. Some areas of the hotel were better decorated and fresher looking than others - but our room was fine. It was clean and spacious with everything you would expect from a hotel of this type. However the room was rather cold and we could not get the heater to work properly. Other family members in different rooms found the same problem.The staff were helpful and friendly and the night porter was available to serve drinks when we returned late from the wedding wanting a nightcap. Breakfast was self service hot and cold food. It was fine. However the breakfast room was very busy, especially on the first morning, and I think this was because of the large numbers of coach parties all breakfasting at the same time. It tended to quieten down after 9am.

Great value
Just had a National Coach tour for Edinburgh and stayed over here. Very good value; Staff, particularly reception were very friendly; food OK but not good. Drinks were expensive. Bottles of wine started at ¿¿19. This cannot be justified with the standard of food they serve. Wine on a P&O cruise starts at ¿¿13! Rooms good, Shower had good pressure but temperature varied. Asda and outlet centre close by, If you can get it at the price of a coach tour I would recommend it. I would look elsewhere if it was personally booked.

Cheap, great hotel, great staff
Myself and my husband stayed at the hotel last weekend as part off a bus Group. The rooms are dated but very clean. The girls on reception were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was great and compared to other hotels we have visited in the past on a bus holiday, the dinner was above average as well. I must make a special mention of the the bar supervisor David and his team. They really looked after us and by the end of our stay we were like old friends. We had 1 minor complaint about the chicken which was slightly tough to which David promptly had us made a fresh bit of fish and even through in an extra scoop of ice cream for dessert which was a nice touch. Can't recommend this hotel enough, the staff are all great.

Cheap prices but great stay
I have recently returned from the Mecure in Livingston having stayed with a bus party trip. The hotel seemed newly decorated in the entrance and in the bar. Some rooms seemed to be better designed/finished than others - some seemed a little out dated. The staff were friendly and by the second night, we had a good relationship built. Breakfast was amazing! Great fun happy stay!
