We stayed here for 6 nights & were very happy with just about everything ! Room lovely & clean, plenty of clean fluffy towels,ran out of coffee's & teas but they willingly gave us more when we asked. The breakfast had plenty of choice although continental style.

Me and my wife arrived at the hotel for an overnight stay. Let me describe in detail our experience. We booked the room as a cheap alternative. We arrived to find a well placed car park, and with good links to the airport and near buy train stations via bus links. The times are varied, yet check before you leave. The outside of the hotel resembles a chance to look back to the heyday of Cardiff airport. No doubt this hotel saw better times during the airports height.You walk through into reception and your senses are met buy 3 very different odours. First is the smell of smoke. Obviously due to the toll of smokers over the years. The reception is what you expect from a budget hotel. A quick check, and nice staff. We then enter through the doors to the stairs. We are met with a nostalgic smell of European hotels, and classic brown carpets. Dark due to lack of windows, we made our way to the room. We enter and are met with a new sense of cleanness. The room in total was average. Let me give the positives first. There are tea and coffee making facilities, clean towels, soap (from dispensers), a hair dryer, a flat screen tv, a dressing table, a tea table with telephone, a double bed (due to our requests). The bedroom was light and the temperature perfect. Now for the negatives, the bathroom resembles something you would expect in a old peoples home. Its dark but allows light from the main bedroom through overhead windows. The walls were thin, and our neighbour could be heard snoring. The lights are not very powerful, and one bulb did not work. The shower fitting was broken, yet this did not cause us a problem. The wallpaper everywhere was peeling off, and painted walls had large cracks and peels. The carpet was well used and stained in places. The amount of dust in the corners was immense, and cobwebs were still noticed around the room. The coffee spoon was stained and looked dirty. The curtains had cigarette holes in them, even though this was a non smoking room. The bed was well worn, the springs almost broken. The sheets with notice of some stains. The pillows very thing, but me and my wife can sleep on a log. The t.v had points which it could only access limited channels, 5 of which, but due the evening these varied to about 10. I guess due to a damaged reception. Let me make it clear, we did not complain, as we are of the sort who do not expect quality at "cheap deals". Overall, our experience was what we expected from an overnight stay. I will say, I would not pay over ¿¿35 for a night, and would rather the Travelodge down the road. We did not use the on sight bar. If you wish to walk to the airport or Barry town, be aware, there is no pavement and only grass verges for about a mile in each direction, walkable but not advisable. In conclusion, we had a nice stay, and as a cheap one night stay, it was as expected.

We used this hotel for just 2 nights,at a good rate, and had a pleasant stay. A bit out of the way unless you're using the airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful.No frills but rooms were comfortable enough.

I stayed here a couple of times recently and have to say it was worth the ¿¿35!The rooms are clean, 2 out of the 3 rooms i have used were very quiet. The signal on the T.V was not great but you could still get a fair few channels.Staff were pleasant enough and the bed was comfortable (although a tad bouncy)would definately recommend for people looking to stay a night before flying or something similar!

A failing hotel that did little to make you feel welcome. Shower was cold, room was dirty, bathroom was in serious need of a refurb. It was cheap and not very cheerful but it served its purpose for what we needed it for
