" more a 4 star hotel"
Stayed in Aghadoe Heights hotel for the last weekend in April,first impressions when we came up to it was " disappointment" I was expecting a grand looking 5star hotel but it was just a metal and glass modern day structure.reception was nice,friendly receptionist checked us in and got the concierge to bring us to our lake view room,which was lovely big bright and a wonderful view over the lake.We ate in the bar on the two nights we stayed as the restaurant did not suit our taste,food was good. breakfast was great with plenty of choice and a freshly cooked breakfast was available to order(loved the little berry shots!) the swimming pool was a big disappointment small and Cold ! The ¿¿¿25 charge for what was basically a sauna,steam room and rainforest showers was a rip off! I have to say.overall We enjoyed our weekend in Kerry but don't think We will stay here again unless we got a Very good deal,We have stayed in the 5 star Europe hotel now that's what I call 5 star.I wonder about the planning Authority that allowed this style of structure on such a beautiful site ???

Lovely hotel in an amazing location
I spent the bank holiday weekend staying at this hotel with my mum and sister. I agree with other reviewers that upon arrival I was surprised with its industrial appearance and definitely agree that as a five star hotel the rooms certainly need to be upgraded...old style tv....boring/modest furnishing etc. however the common areas are lovely and the bar and restaurant have stunning views.The staff at this hotel are brilliant, and along with the food is really what warrants the hotels 5 star rating.The food is incredible, breakfast was included in our room rate and it was amazing! The selection and freshness was like nothing I've ever had before anywhere in the world. I also had dinner one evening in the restaurant and couldn't fault a single thing, again delicious, fresh and well presented.We brought our dog with us, for a nightly rate of ¿¿¿25 which was well worth it and we were surprised on arrival to see that the hotel provided a bed, bowl, chews, and even a doggy room service menu! Brilliant!I do think that a guest charge of ¿¿¿25 to use the thermal suite (saunas/steam room/showers) s too expensive and even at that when we wanted to use it we had to wait until the next hour as it was too busy.Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the staff, food and location are all wonderful and I'll definitely be back!

Nice hotel but rooms need update
Difficult place to find. My TomTom did not direct me to this hotel. I was a bit lost but the locals are very nice and helped me find my way. As others have said the exterior of this place is oddly industrial but the interior common spaces are amazing. The actual rooms are quite dated especially the crazy small tube TV. I enjoyed the spa and thermal suites. The dry sauna wasn't very hot and the deluge shower would never get warm. My massage was just ok. Did have a strange occurrence late in the evening. The security guard walked into my room using a room key. Scared the crap out of me. Somehow my room was on the list as empty and he inspects all empty rooms in the evening. Management was very apologetic and even sent me off with a nice gift. Even with this little glitch I would still recommend this place.

Fantastic Service & Excellent Staff
My family and I recently attended my brothers wedding at this Hotel. We arived at 3.30am on the 24th April after travelling via ferry to Dublin with three kids. We were welcomed by the night porter and immediately our bags taken and brought to the room, he even offered to park my car as he could see my hands were full with tired and sleepy kids. Breakfast was plentyful and setting of hotel just amazing. We stayed a total of four nights in two interconnecting rooms which were always tided and beds turned down each night, plenty of water and always fresh towels.This Hotel exceeded my expections as a frequent traveller throughout the world this Hotel matches my review of the Mandrian Oriential in Paris, which if both were in Killarney - I would have a very tough decision to make !
