absolutely fantastic hotel
myself,my husband, our 14 month old daughter and my husbands parents stayed in this hotel for a night for my mother in laws birthday. The hotel was absolutely fabulous but the staff were so amazing. They couldnt have been nicer or more accommodating. It is such a family friendly hotel and they made such a fuss of my mother in laws birthday. The extra little touches they provide are fantastic and we had an absolutely perfect night. we will definately go back again. we would all highly recommend this hotel.

Staff excellent, Food a let down
My boyfriend stayed at The G for my birthday in April.On arrival we were upgraded to a suite, which was wonderful news, but we do not know why.A nice touch in the room were the 2 "G" cupcakes that were awaiting us on arrival, a lady also came to the room offering us more cupcakes!Funky decor in the room and the corridors and all over the hotel, nice features like a 2 person shower, large bath, sound control in the bathroom, slippers and robes.The room itself looked very pleasing to the eye, but on closer inspection, there were stains on the cushions and overall I thought the hotel was losing its polished look.I'm not one to complain in a 5 star hotel as I don't stay in them that often but I had expected a more polished appearance on the public areas also, there were signs of wear but it is to be expected after a number of years.The lounge areas are a great place to sit and have a few drinks and people watch. Afternoon tea and lunch are served in these areas also, but food being served did not take from the ambiance of the lounges.There are 3 lounges each decorated individually - a silver lounge with the well known silver "balls" on the ceiling, the pink lounge and the gentlemans lounge...and a cocktail bar.The thing I really appreciated was the table service in the lounges and the ability to pay on completion of all your drinks rather than at each round, I thought this was a a nice aspect of the Hotel and made you feel like you were being really looked after.One big pro to a stay at this hotel are the staff. they are excellent - attentive, helpful, welcoming and sincere.We ate in GiGi's restaurant, again the service was impressive.The courses were served with no delay however the food did not excite me, maybe due to the fact the service was so quick might indicate that the food was not prepared as per request. I am not a fussy eater but I was expecting something amazing and unfortunately it was not, the lamb was dry, the steak was well done not medium as requested. The reason I would eat in a restaurant like GiGi's would be to experience a quality dish and something out of the ordinary and so I was dissappointed with the food. It was presented beautifully however and the dessert was amazing - a deconstructed rocky road!I had the cocktail special with dinner which was delicious and strong!The breakfast the next morning was much of the same - dissappointing , but as it was a buffet full irish, I can understand that the quality will not be great, the scrambled eggs were terrible. The choice was excellent though, you would certainly not go hungry.Overall an enjoyable stay and something different for someone who does not frequent establishments of this type. The food I felt let the experience down, but the staff more than make up for it.

Best luxury hotel in Galway
Stayed for one night recently, most comfortable beds, delicious food - fast room service and the complimentary cupcakes are heavenly! The location is just a little outside the city - roughly a 15 minute walk if the weather permits!!Highly recommended as THE place to stay in Galway.

Hotel perfection
Recently stay in the G hotel , absolute perfection. From the moment we arrived our check in, complete with the excellent front office manager graciously escorted us to the lifts,every possible care was extended to us at all times by all staff members. Clearly there was no better place to get engaged.the g hotel made what was a very special weekend, a perfect one. I will be returning. As someone who works in a 5* property myself i took away many ideas from the g........ I have stayed in most of the 5* hotels in the country..... And the g is probably my one of choice.oh and the new chef is spectacular.....Michelin quality restaurant without being pretentious or over priced..

Spa Day in Galway!
Stayed at this hotel recently with 2 friends after a hectic Hen Party week end! We enjoyed Spa treatments - where the therapists were amazing and the facilities top class! We had cocktails in the Pink Lounge before heading out for the night. The night porter was so attentive upon our return ensuring we got drinks and late night snacks! Overall the customer service here is second to none. Extremely friendly and accommodating - will definitely stay here again! Big thumbs up!
