Good stay! Great location!
This was my second stay at the Maldron Parnell Square. The familiarity prompted the return stay and I've got to say it was worth it. I had an extremely late check-in due to my flight and the staff was ready and waiting even at that late hour to check me in. The process was seamless and the room was as clean and as expected.Although, only two adults were on this trip, this is a great hotel for families. They provide a very good breakfast option which is open from very early and serves hearty fare.The hotel is in the City Centre of Dublin and less than 10 minutes from the Spire and O'Connell Street; and about 15 minutes from Temple Bar. It is in a quiet neighborhood but all the action of pubs, restaurants, shopping, etc. is just minutes away.

Good Value
We stayed in Dublin for two nights. The Maldron was easy to get to from the airport bus and very reasonably priced by Dublin standards. It is a fair walk down to the Trinity College area, about 15 minutes (down being the operative word, as one must walk back up at the end of the day), However the walk is mostly down O'Connell Street which is a sight itself. You are also right near a Dublin bike stand which is convenient, and it is a block from the garden of Rememberance. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the room was adequate. I thought traffic noise might be an issue, but I never heard a thing. Breakfast wasn't included in the price of the room. They have a nice dining room so we spent the money for breakfast the first morning and it was very nice, but opted for a diner the next morning for a change of pace.

No Frills Home Base
We stayed at the Hotel Maldron Parnell Square for seven nights and are pleased with the location, room and service. The hotel is no frills, meaning don't expect luxuriously toiletries or a wide selection of TV channels in your room, but it is clean and functional and the service is exceptional.The location is a 15 minute walk from Temple Bar and many of the sites in Dublin. We rented a car for four days to tour other sites in Ireland and were able to reserve the underground car park for 10 euros per day.The room was a moderate size and the bed very comfortable. There was little dresser space so we left our clothes in the suitcase the entire time. The hair dryer was attached inside one of the small dresser drawers instead of the bathroom, which was a little unusual, and the room could use better lighting as it was cloudy outside a lot and little light infiltrated the window.The breakfast was great, offering a wide variety of hot and cold buffet foods, but they could have offered a better selection of fresh fruit. Banana or apple anyone? The best part of the breakfast was the self-serve coffee which included cappuccino as well as the fruit smoothies.The hotel does offer dinner, but we didn't try it, and they do have a bar, but it's unusual that it's set up as pay as you go versus allowing the option to bill the drinks to your room. There is no room service.The hotel also offers free wireless, but you have to reconnect to it every time you come back to the hotel, and they could certainly make the login process easier because the user ID is a long set of letters and numbers and it's confusing that you are logged when the screen simply says "Not found." No problem, the reception will help you figure it out.The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to answer questions and solve problems. In general, the Irish people are some of the most friendly we've met in our travels and we appreciate their generosity of spirit.We paid an average of $163 USD per night including breakfast, and we feel it was a great value and recommend the Hotel Maldron Parnell Square.

Great stay!
We arrived at the Maldron Parnell Hotel and were pleasantly surprised to find out room was available for immediate check in (at eight am!). We put our stuff in the room, cleaned up, and resisted the urge to nap. The hotel was nice, with a television, a good sized bathroom and a decent size bed in the room. The hotel staff was fantastic- when the air conditioner was having issues, I called to ask how to fix it and they sent someone up within three minutes! They also gave us fantastic recommendations for dinner. If you are traveling from the States, note that quite a few hotels (this one included) require you to put the key card in a slot near the door to activate the lights/AC. This seems simplistic, but took us longer than it should've to figure out (I blame it on jet lag!). The staff deserves to be mentioned again- they were so helpful, went out of their way to help people, gave great recommendations, and had excellent tourist brochures. The only odd thing was when I ordered dessert to bring up to the room. I walked down to the restaurant, requested a chocolate cake and perhaps the person was new, but it took three people and twenty minutes to get me a piece of cake. The cake was good, it just was a bit strange when customer service had been so excellent besides that. Still had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone. It was about a ten minute walk from the Airlink and the same from the Aircoach. The Hop On Hop Off bus (which I highly recommend!) was just around the corner- about a two minute walk.

Prior to staying at this hotel on 7th may, 2013 I enquired as to the possibility of a surprise being left in our room for my new wife (we were being married on the quiet in Leith, Edinburgh that morning before flying over to Dublin for our 2 day honeymoon). I had requested champagne, a red rose and chocolates and for the hotel to bill me immediately. I was overwhelmed when the General Manager, Philip Uzice not only agreed to my request, but very generously insisted The Maldron Hotel would not charge me for this extra service for our special occasion. Not only that, we were upgraded to a superior room at the top of the hotel complete with balcony. On arrival at reception, Hittomi welcomed us warmly, was very pleasant and informative. Our room was perfect and my wife was thrilled with the surprise, courtesy of the hotel of course. The service, sleep quality, cleanliness and room was sincerely excellent which, in turn, by Dublin standards/prices made our stay also excellent in terms of value. We had been a little apprehensive about the location however, we need not have been as it was so convenient for walking to O'Connell St. and beyond. It was only a 3-4 minute walk from the Airbus drop-off/pick-up stop near the top of O'Connell St.I have no hesitation in recommending The Maldron Hotel, Dublin and, my wife and I, will both certainly be back in the near future to further enjoy it's first class services.A very grateful Mr & Mrs Gordon McIntyre.
