Cheap, quiet and a short walk to the Strip.
We are not people who spend big on hotels even in Las Vegas. This hotel is so cheap, it was a steal to stay here. My wife and I could not believe the price so we tried it to see how bad it could be. The pictures looked great. They always do. It was rather surprising that the room is rather nice. It is on the quiet side of Vegas, spells quiet sleep. The foyer is forgettable and the decoration in the common areas are dated, badly in need of renovation. We don't use any of the common areas anyway. It is also not that close to the Strip although it is only a 10 mins walk. Anyway, it is a decent hotel, the room is large and clean. It is typical of a good 3 stars hotel. This hotel is great if you don't spend a lot of time in the hotel room and you just want a good night sleep. We were out all day. There are so many nice hotel in Las Vegas so choose wisely. On hind sight, I would have preferred another hotel on the Strip.

very inexpensive, however...
If you are just looking for crisp clean sheets and a place to crash at the end of the day and you can overlook the dated, worn out decor, this might be the place for you. The room had supposedly been cleaned but we found 2 empty water bottles next to the bed platform that had been overlooked. There was a hole in the plastic on the bottom of the bathtub which looked like a cigarette burn. At the end of our showers you could see water under the vinyl surface of the bottom which squished out water when stepped on. There were areas on the wall where prints used to hang but were no longer there., just a series of holes. The bathroom was fairly clean except for some hair in the corner which should have been seen by housekeeping. The towels looked new and very white. The pool water was cold and only a few brave individuals from Minnesota had the courage to swim for a very short while. The spa was closed for repairs. There is a small but very nice theater in the hotel. Because of its size the acts are necessarily B and C grade but they are very inexpensive and can be fun as it is a more intimate experience. The parking lot had very few cars (about 25) early in the morning so I suspect the hotel doesn't have many guests. I had the distinct feeling that the hotel was in a waiting mode (waiting for sale?, destruction?) Oh yes, One of our pillow top King beds was softer than the other which was kind of nice as my wife and I slept fine on the firmer one and our grandaughter was very happy with her less firm bed.

Drab and dreary is being polite
It appears that this was a beautiful hotel back in the 70's but it is apparent the owner is not intent on spending money for upkeep. Drive up and you immediately notice that 90% of the outside lights are out. The lobby is dark and has long since lost its appeal. The airport has more slot machines then you will find in the 'casino'. I cannot comment on the food service as I could not bring myself try it. I figured that if the rest of the hotel was this run-down, how fresh could the food be. Moving to the elevators you can entertain yourself with the graffiti etched into the walls. Once out of the elevator, you notice the halls have the same appeal as the lobby. Enter the room and you immediately are taken back to those glory days of the 70's....which is probably the last time curtains were changed. Surprisingly, the bed is in good shape and the bathroom is actually clean and modern. Now if only you did not have to walk on the stained carpet to get around the room. The TV has a pretty good line-up as well. So if you are looking for a cheap bed for the night, this is the place. But if you want the feeling of security or cleanliness, you might want to catch a shuttle elsewhere. Oops, wait, they don¿¿¿t have one. With the Clarion brand it¿¿¿s always hit or miss. This is definitely a miss. The irony is that with the proximity to the strip and the convention center (which is why I booked it) this is a prime spot that could easily command a higher dollar. But alas, the owners have long since left the building.

clean hotel
good hotel for the price pay. Hotel is close to the strastophere area and close to Venetian/Palazzo. clean room, lobby was being remodel which was little chaotic but it was a great stay. The breakfast was tasty, cheap and delicious, friendly staff. Overall the hotel was good, I would definitely stay here again

Surprizing find on after a long journey at night
We had booked with a hotel down the street that turned out to be a hole! So, we found this Clarion and were so happy to have wonderfully clean and comfortable rooms since my husband and i were traveling to Calif. with one of our daughters, her husband and 7 kids. We got 3 rooms next to each other and were so glad to be there for a one night rest!
