Lovely situation
This is located in the heart of Dun Laoghaire with fantastic views over the harbour. It is within wallking distance of the forty foot. The hotel is wonderful and the staff where efficient if not overly friendly, The breakfast was good but it is better to get dinner somewhere else. The food is fine but nothing special. All in all we had an enjoyable stay.

Excellent Hotel
Stayed one night over bank holiday and really enjoyed our stay. Upgraded to a seaview room without asking by very pleasant receptionist. Extremely comfortable and spacious room with a lovely view over the harbour. We had lunch which was excellent and good value. Bar entertainment on Saturday night and overall a really nice stay.On check out asked about parking for a couple of hours as we were going for a walk and some lunch- absolutely no problem and no charge.Highly recommend this hotel.

An old hotel that needs updating
This was our last two nights in Ireland on CIE Classic tour. The could have left us with a better impression as all the other hotels were 4 Star. The hotels woodwork is cracking, only internet is in lobby. The breakfast is fair. However, the staff is excellent. Very accommodating and go out of their way to feed early departees, arrange for extras in rooms.

Great Location, Good Hotel
We stayed here for 4 nights, & found it a very good hotel. Our room was on the fifth floor, & while it only afforded a view of the main hotel building, the room was very quite, which for us is more important. The room was a good size if a little dark, but it was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable . The bathroom had a walk in shower in addition to a bath, & everything in the room worked . Internet access in the rooms is available through an adsl cable. If you want wifi it is available in the public rooms. We found the staff very friendly. The location is excellent. In addition, the hotel is five minutes walk from the dart station with frequent, fast, & good value trains to take you in to the centre of Dublin. The reason I gave the hotel 4 rather than 5 stars, was that on our arrival, due to systems problems , the room was not available for about an hour & a half. For us this was no problem, as we were more than happy to explore the town , but if you have had a long journey, this is the last thing you needs.

Very interesting place
I stayed for a week at the Royal Marine Hotel on business. My fourth floor room was fine, a bit dated and dim; no view from the one small window. The bed was comfortable, shower nice and hot and good toiletries provided. My room and bath were wonderfully clean. I found the commode quite high so even though I'm a 6 foot man, my feet didn't touch the floor. Not a problem per se, just an observation. My room had an 'adjoining' door which was somewhat easy to hear the gentleman next to me. Breakfast every morning was delicious with a great selection and very nice coffee. The breakfast room staff just wonderful and helpful. Drinks in the evening in the bar area was nice as well. We had a few requests for the front desk staff which were all handled quickly and efficiently. The internet service here is not so good (slow) and only available in the rooms via old-school ethernet cable. Since I also brought an iPad, I could only get wireless if I stood out in the hallway by the Frank Sinatra suite or in the lobby where free wireless is available. Something to consider if you planned to use in your room. Seating in the lobby while plentiful is somewhat tired. We visited a few restaurants within walking distance of the hotel - some were a clear miss. Also - if they ask you if you want the paper in the morning, please note this is not free as in most hotels I've ever stayed.
