This is fab on so many levels - just not the spa.
We couldn't fault the staff who were super! We were even given a bottle of bubbley and chocolate strawberries in our room when they heard we were celebrating our anniversary. The food was spectacular too. The room was lovely very spacious and comfortable. The shower wasn't great but the bath, bathrobes and slippers were lovely.The only fault was the spa which really didn't live up to the 5 star rep. It was dated and dirty in places, with v poor showers. It was a real shame as other than the spa it was really fab. (Plus a great place to spot celebs!)

decent hotel
we booked the hilton for a short break. The hotel was very clean and the room was spacious enough for two and the decor was fairly modern. we did feel that the mini bar was a bit pricey as was breakfast- ¿¿17.95 per person- really???

Great Corner room and view
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here the other night. It's a very clean a well kept hotel. A touch off the beaten path as you have to walk 4 or 5 blocks to find a large selection of restaurants and bars. However a good little walk works up an appetite. The staff was very friendly and always is welcoming. The only negative that I had was that the internet got slow at times. It wasn't terrible though and didn't impact my stay much at all.

Great welcome back
From the minute I walked into the hotel I got a great welcome back. Quick, friendly check in and upgraded to a lovely corner room overlooking the Clyde. The room was well appointed and an excellent standard of d¿¿cor including a lovely leather sofa.Headed down to the pool area for a swim with an additional, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna facilities in the Spa area..Had executive lounge access and headed there after the swim. Excellent afternoon tea with 3 choice's of sandwiches, cakes and scones with cream and jam.Returned to the lounge later in the evening for complimentary drinks and canap¿¿s from 6pm to 8pm. The choice was several cold dishes and 2 hot dishes and a lovely cheese board too.Breakfast was served in the restaurant with a huge choice of excellent quality items.Looking forward to my next stay

Disappointing compared to others
We booked the Hilton for a short weekend stay and went for the dinner, bed and spa option as it looked like a great deal given our past experiences of the chain, including Paris and London. The first problem came when attempting to confirm dinner and spa arrangements prior to arrival via email. Two mails did not receive a response so we followed up with a phone call and were told the only spa slots available were 8am Sunday morning. Not ideal for our first weekend away without the kids in some time but hey-ho. On arriving the hotel reception service was friendly and efficient and we freshened up before heading down to the restaurant for dinner. Again the service offered by the restaurant staff was good but they were a little slow to clear tables. Unfortunately the dinner we were looking forward to turned out to be a buffet service which although the food was okay is not what you expect from a hotel with Hilton's reputation. The room was okay; comfortable, clean, of ample size and well decorated. The general areas were a little tired but were kept clean and the bar area and staff were probably the highlight of what was on offer. Breakfast was similar to the buffer dinner, no major complaints but nothing flash either with friendly and efficient staff. Our spa trip on the Sunday morning offered two treatments totalling 1 hour and we got what we deserved for booking a package deal including first night dinner and spa. The spa staff were efficient, but didn't exactly go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and comfortable and the treatment room opened onto the reception which didn't help either. The walls were paper thin meaning all noise from the spa and gym reception was heard over the music playing during our treatments. The CD was also scratched meaning it stuck every 15 minutes so obviously the best thing to do is to start it again so it keeps sticking every 15 minutes! All in all our stay at the Hilton Glasgow was okay, the general hotel staff and bar made up for a mediocre dinner and breakfast services and the spa experience lived up to its billing of being cheap and not worth going back for.
